I was wondering if any of you have dealt with hatchlings trying to crawl out without absorbing their yolks? My first clutch this year has been a train wreck. I have lost a lot of this clutch. I have never dealt with one going this bad. I have had 2 snakes try and crawl out and leave their yolk behind. I'm not talking about a half absorbed yolk either. A full unabsorbed yolk. Their umbilicles seem to have clots in them, blocking the absorption. They are on day 59 right now and 3 have absorbed the others are all twisted up or have expired due to them being twisted up. I did not mess with them too much or any of that. Have any of you dealt with a clutch like this? What to do to try and save them? I tried the clipping of the yolk on one and it died shortly after clipping the yolk.
