Hi gang! Some of you know me from the Fauna thread, some do not, but I am the original person who brought up the whole deal with Reptster and the sponsorship agreement gone bad over there. My user name on Fauna is GottaLuvHerps. This is one hell of an introduction to this site, but I wanted to put my few cents in about a few things, and felt it more appropriate to start a new thread than to add onto the FedEx threads going on. I am NOT going to rehash the details of my original issue with Reptster/David Young, as they can all be found on the BOI thread. I am happy to answer any questions about that issue, however. Of course, I am always available by PMs or email as well.
So, anyhow, here are my thoughts...

I questioned BT and Larry and their possible "change of support" for Reptster on the Fauna thread as some of you may have seen. BT came over and asked why I questioned it. I did not respond on Fauna YET (I asked permission from Rich because of the off topic thing), but want to respond here.
When I posted that question on the BOI, I guess I realized after BT's response that it did seem that I was saying that Reptiles Radio/Larry/BT were changing their stance on Reptster. That is NOT what I was trying to get at, but my thoughts were just not making themselves clear that morning. I guess I was curious as to why they had both been quiet on THIS site about it, and questioned IF their stance had changed. Obviously, it has not, and I am now aware of that.
My main reason for wondering was simply because it was such a shock to Matthew and I that someone as respected in the industry as Reptiles Radio/Larry/BT would go public with their feelings on the show, then keep quiet on the forums. As I said to BT in a PM, the reason for my shock about their stance was simply that we NEVER expected the support from the community that we received. Reptiles Radio is a big thing, so it was a big thing for them to say what they said. I guess, even though it is proven time and time again on the forums, although the "little guy" and the "nobody's" get as much support in their issues as the well-known big guys, when YOU are the little guy going up against someone with a good reputation, you get scared about what support might come your way, or if you should have just kept your mouth shut and faded into the background with something so simple as a reneged agreement like we had happen to us and our show. I told BT, I sat for an hour after that show ended (which meant until 3am EST) freaking out that it was even brought up, and that it was now much bigger than we ever expected, and that the support from the community just went well beyond what we ever dreamed of. That was proven to us time and time again in the BOI thread as well, and in many other ways over time. I mean, if you look at it clearly, Matthew and I came out of nowhere, announced we were starting this show, and THEN we came out of nowhere for the majority of the community and announced what happened. No one really knew us, no one had any clue who we were, and everyone (well, most everyone) really showed us personally what this community is all about.

Honestly, I am not sure why I felt the need to say all of that right now, but I did feel the need to make some sort of public response to BT about what he asked on the BOI thread. I did contact him privately, but felt he DESERVED a public response as well.
So, I am off to go play on the lizard forums now. Hope to see you guys around more!!

Thanks for that post Kelly. You have to understand, the way we don’t show support for someone which in this case is Reptster is to not mention them.. That’s exactly what we've done, we pulled their link and banner from the RR home page and haven't said a word about them since..

About the thread here in the Bush-League, I've been working a lot over the last couple days and haven't really been following that particular thread.. In all reality just because we choose to not support them or condone that type of business doesn't mean I'm going to jump into threads or posts when they pop up and hammer the point home.

We've gone our separate ways and that is that. Nothing has changed. Now if we could just get our banner and stands back…:D

Larry, sometimes I forget how the southern boys handle things compared to us hillbilly girls - ya'll stay quiet while we bitch about everything LOL. It comes from being too far north in PA now to be around enough rednecks to keep me sane! But it DOES mean a ton to me and to Matthew that you guys have shown support to the situation, no matter how you choose to do it.

Yeah, you need to get that banner and stand back. If not, send him a bill. It won't get paid, but it will show him you haven't forgotten. Like BT said, wrong is wrong, and THAT is just wrong for him to do that to you guys.

Don't work too hard - go play with the lizards. It makes you smile, somehow even when cleaning up poop. Only moms and reptile people can say that I think. Yup, we are out of our rockers for sure LOL
