Does anyone on our boards have and use ARS snake racks? How do they work? Do you have the semi-clear tubs or the gray tubs? Do you think the ventilation holes are enough? With the gray tubs do they get adequate light into the tubs? Are they better than Freedom Breeder?
Give me your review of them.

Bill, I have both ARS and Freedom Breeder racks. I use semi-clear tubs on both. I have both company's adult racks and hatchling racks. I find ARS racks to be an improvement over FB. They seem better made, the draws slide in smoother, etc. I believe the ARS racks are a bit cheaper as well.

I'm assuming you keep humidity up in your room. What do you think of the closed air ARS shelves? Do they allow enough air to exchange to let in humidity from the room?

I use Venta air cleaner/humidifiers, they work great and don't have filters that get funky. I use large water bowls and also spray down the bin when snakes are in shed. I'm in Phoenix so it's a bit tough keeping the humidity up. The air exchange seems fine.

If you humidify your room the air inside the tub will reflect that added humidity. The tub clearances are not an airtight fit by any means.
I use the semi clear tubs. ARS tubs are bitchin.

I have an ARS 7030 a d I love it. They only have vent holes on the front 1/3 or 1/4. No temp or humidity problems. And I had some problems picking one up at Daytona so he gave me a nice discount for my troubles and even upgraded my heating to 6in strips and added the insulation. So I gotta give A+ for product and customer service.
As long as I can afford them I will go with ARS.
I do have an RBI hatchling rack that I like but quality wise the ARS beats it by miles. But that's not to say I wouldn't buy an RBI again, or give their other models a try.
So yeah, ARS is really awesome.
Note: I use the grey opaque tubs and live in Florida. So it is humid here all the time, not sure if that impacts your choice at all but just moving the water bowl to the back(hot) side would be enough, or a room humidifier et cetera.
And I don't think the light matters with the opque tubs. I have no data but I just doubt light cycles matter much for a nocturnal and burrowing and canopy dwelling creature like a BP
