View Full Version : Just a Dinker
Tosha 11-10-2008, 01:34 PM Got this "girl" in 05 -- sadly she turned out to be a he -- a neat dinker project-- but likely just a normal -- I don't know, been thinking he is just taking up valuable tub space -- but he is cool to look at. What do you think....

For lack of a better thing to call him IMG works but I hate throwing that out there because I don't know his early history and I do believe it's a term that has frequently been misused. It's been a slow process but it will be interesting to see how dark he is in 5 or 10 years.
Anyway thanks for taking a look!
constrictorkeeper 11-10-2008, 01:50 PM he does have a certain je ne sais quoi...
pick an ugly girl and mate him, or cut your losses now and give him away.
( LOL ! )
gotta say, that's a tough call tosh, good luck either way,
ck
Rapture 11-10-2008, 02:27 PM I think he's real interesting. If you're tired of him you can send him my way... ;)
jknudson 11-10-2008, 02:55 PM I love it!
Here's my IMG-type animal

She's proven to NOT be codom/dom... but the previous owner didn't keep any of the offspring to see if she's recessive. I too doubt she's anything special, but she'll be a cool breeder anyways.
grunt_11b2007 11-10-2008, 06:47 PM That guy is crazy! I love the dark snakes. I want to get all the dark ones sable, chocolate, and blk axanthic.. Hopefully he'll prove out for you.

JOHNS6068 11-16-2008, 02:00 AM Those are some crazy looking patterns and colors. Thanks for sharing =)
FloridaHogs 11-16-2008, 07:38 AM What an odd ball, he looks aost dirty, like he needs a bath. Very cool change in him!!
RandyRemington 11-16-2008, 09:49 AM Dang, I must have previewed but not posted.
Here is my IMG like animal:

She was 600 grams, looked axanthic and shed clear when I bought her. She then got darker and more yellow and now sheds patterned. I'm worried she might be one of those changers that has so far not proven genetic.
After eating great for a while right at the edge of breeding size she decided she only wants mice. Out on breeding loans for the last 4 years she failed to produce, probably just not heavy enough. I have her back now and maybe she wants to go this year as she actually started eating Norway rats again and also I just found out thinks ASF's are candy. If I can just get enough of them to her maybe I'll finally start to find out if I made a big mistake buying her or not.
JChandler 11-16-2008, 12:36 PM Some cool dinker projects!
luciddream 11-16-2008, 01:43 PM Very nice dinker. Some of the first pictures made it look like it could have been a shatter pattern or something. But it just looks more like a hypermelanistic or IMG now. Very cool. If you don't want him anymore, you can send him my way, as well.
Mrs. Sputnik 11-16-2008, 01:47 PM Dinker projects can be frusrtating but with his color changes hard to say what he will produce
earthpig23 11-16-2008, 02:22 PM will just have to see what all comes of it. may be something cool or just might be something that works well when combined with another morph no matter seems like an interestng project
147BOAS 11-16-2008, 05:54 PM very nice
Steven_Kelley 11-17-2008, 05:03 PM Beautiful Dinker!!
I like it...
jknudson 11-17-2008, 06:07 PM Just a note on mine, I bought her from Chun Ku, he raised her from a CH import, and said she always had the dark speckling to her, and it had increased as she grew. I've had her for two years now, and her colors and pattern have maintained for the most part. If she's only a normal, she's still interesting to look at to me.
