Excellent news!!! This is another one of those I've wanted since childhood. Komodos was the other one :-). Too bad they are so slow at getting around to breeding. I think sexual maturity is reached at about 25 years of age. A slow repopulation effort but maybe someday it will prove successful.

That's awesome. I remember reading about those guys as a kid. I havent read anything about them in many years. Good to know they are still around and kicking.

love those things. read an article about them a few years ago and the st louis zoo has a trio of them at the reptile house. This is good news story.

Very cool story!! Wow they don't hit reproductive age till 25!! Hopefully they'll make a strong comeback.
