Thanks CBMorphs 11-10-2008, 08:49 PM Sorry, I don't have any pics. I did melt the plastic away from the metal connectors before I soldered the wires to them. Varanus99 11-10-2008, 09:23 PM Here is a link to a nice Flexwatt tutorial by Clay Davenport. I think it has just what you're looking for. http://www.arbreptiles.com/cages/flexwire.shtml JChandler 11-10-2008, 10:58 PM I will try to remember to get some pics this weekend...send me a pm if I forget but the only thing I do different is cut the piece at the end that I am soldering...also then I don't have to burn off the plastic since it comes right off. surfinball 11-12-2008, 09:25 PM Thanks for the replys. They helped me out. grunt_11b2007 11-14-2008, 05:29 PM I think you can buy the crimper for the flexwatt.. Rich at RBI has them.. They're expensive though. I think he said 50 or 60 bucks.. Alan snakemaster 11-14-2008, 10:30 PM I have used flexwatt for years i always just use a hammer to crimp the connectors works for me. grunt_11b2007 11-14-2008, 11:57 PM Or maybe a pair of channel locks?? Alan JChandler 11-15-2008, 07:27 AM Or maybe a pair of channel locks?? Alan Personally that is what I used and squeezed the life out of them...some would be fine and some would never work right...not sure if it was the tape/connectors or the installer... grunt_11b2007 11-15-2008, 10:20 PM I think I'm going to get a pair of the crimpers. I've had a connection come loose and it was one from the supplier. I used the channel locks but it's not as strong as I would like.. So I'm going to get the crimpers and then I can buy the tape by the roll. Alan |
