Could someone post some pics of their soldered heat tape. I want to make sure that I do it right.

Sorry, I don't have any pics. I did melt the plastic away from the metal connectors before I soldered the wires to them.

I will try to remember to get some pics this weekend...send me a pm if I forget but the only thing I do different is cut the piece at the end that I am soldering...also then I don't have to burn off the plastic since it comes right off.

I think you can buy the crimper for the flexwatt.. Rich at RBI has them.. They're expensive though. I think he said 50 or 60 bucks..

I have used flexwatt for years i always just use a hammer to crimp the connectors works for me.

Personally that is what I used and squeezed the life out of them...some would be fine and some would never work right...not sure if it was the tape/connectors or the installer...:cheers:

I think I'm going to get a pair of the crimpers. I've had a connection come loose and it was one from the supplier. I used the channel locks but it's not as strong as I would like.. So I'm going to get the crimpers and then I can buy the tape by the roll.
