They would all be normals het for amel unless the miami or sunglow has hidden hets. a sunglow is a line bred amelinistic and a miami is a line bred normal. :yessir:
phunkyone808 10-18-2009, 11:06 PM so a miami is a normal.......and a sunglow is a rescessive gene.....
earthpig23 10-18-2009, 11:38 PM got to love it surprise clutch. its kind of a cool thing actually
Mrs. Sputnik 10-19-2009, 12:08 AM Congrats
phunkyone808 10-19-2009, 12:21 AM thanks.........................now what to do with 15 more babies..........that will bring my count to almost 50 mouths to feed...........one of my co workers sons wants one so i will give one to him and i guess i will keep/sell/ trade the rest........maybe keep a few females........my wife wife raggin me hard...........she said see and your trying to breed balls and you get corns.LOL........i made a make shift cooler incubator today and picked up some vermiculite...........eggs at a good 80-82 degrees......
guyergenetics 10-19-2009, 09:52 AM Congrats on the surprises!
You really don't need an incubator with the corns eggs. I hatched out a couple hundred this season and i don't even own an incubator. Just set them up with whatever substrate you prefer...spagnum, vermiculate, whatever....make it a little damp, sit them up on a shelf and open them up for a bit every day and they should hatch out just fine.
DMong 10-19-2009, 04:17 PM Congrats on the unexpected "bastard" clutch..LOL!
best regards, ~Doug

cool thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
norsmis 10-19-2009, 09:24 PM so a miami is a normal.......and a sunglow is a rescessive gene.....
Yep! Miami is a normal with a grey background instead of tan or brown and a sunglow is an amelinistic which is recessive.
phunkyone808 10-20-2009, 01:41 AM Is it normal for the eggs to be dimpleing already???? I mixed vermiculite like bps where it has moisture squeeze clump etc ... So I took I out the incubator and put on shelf....

No that means they are too dry. You can take some slighty damp moss on lay over the top of them, shut the lid and leave it alone for a week. That usually brings them back up.
snakeden80 04-20-2010, 03:17 PM nice clutch i know my wife cant wait to get hers off and breeding
