I hear a bit about this, but want to hear some opinions here. What is a flipper to you?

Is it someone that works you down on price for a couple days at a show and then posts the snake for a profit on KS the next day?

Is it someone that buys a bundle of het's for cheap and turns around and sells them for a profit?

Is it someone that gets a good deal on a snake from a friend or local breeder and purchases it with the intent to sell it for a profit?

Rumor has it you guys have a few opinions on this around here. :)

For me, example number one bugs me a lot. The other two are OK in my mind if it's supporting a breeding program and not just a middleman with no interest in the hobby.

To me it's people that, for example.... get questionable stuff off craigs list, take in rescues or get it dirt cheap in the first place or whatever means they were able to get it and without any quarantein (sp), feeding etc just and just throw it up for sale.

They don't care, could a sick animal, have mites, be emaciated etc.... they just don't give a damn!

It's a person that buys wholesale and then sells them on the regular market. They take in alot of animals and don't quarantine anything. But I'll admit I bought from a flipper before I knew what a flipper was! Now that I've been around a minute I know better.. Why give the flipper my money when I can buy directly from the breeder..

Good point on the quarantein. I searched for flippers and could not find a thread on this site. If you see it let me know.

I really don't have a problem with someone buying wholesale and then selling.... provided quarantine is practiced, they are correctly advertised as such and they are not burning the market place that is!

but flippers just don't give a rat's ass about anything!

I think there is one about market crashers V flippers.... I think I remember reading something like that!

If you are buying someone else's stock for the sole purpose of turning around and selling it you are a flipper.
