I was just curious if anyone out there had experience w/Macklot's pythons. I fell in love with their look-thanks REPTILES mag!-and bought a pair from VPI about 14 yrs ago and had to get rid of them when I shipped out overseas, but they were just aggressive and snippy as hell. It probably didn't help that I didn't have the guts to take a few hatchling bites to try and tame them. Won't make that mistake again-a little blood is a small price to pay for the joy of herps:lol::cool:

Thanks for the support, CK, but I'm in love with carpets and maybe retics. I'll just call the Macklot's the 'one that got away'

Mackies are AWESOME animals!!!!!

I picked up some big adults a cpl years ago...sold the prettiest and the tamest i hate to say...thing was a puppy dog tame and had an insane yellow belly...SO wish i woulda held on to her...

But i still have a monster female just a hair over 10' not too fun to get out of her cage but GREAT once she out and calms down...Now if only i could find a Big enuff male to make some babies id be a happy man LOL

I really miss the Midwest-all the cool herp shows and shops! Nothing to speak of in Nevada-gotta drive to So Cal for shows-8 to 10 hours.

Macks are great! My pair is together now, but I haven't seen anything yet. It's still early.

They are definitely an under appreciated species.

I love the Macks but I have to agree they will be the one that got away with retics as well for now for me. Mainly do to lack of room issue or I would have them in a heart beat :yessir:
