If your male is only around 500 g what is the biggest female you will put him with?

How ever big you've got.. He'll hang on for dear life. In all seriousness, I haven't found a female ball that I wouldn't feel comfortable breeding a 500 gram male too. They know what they're doing. If they seem interested in each other, they'll breed regardless of how much smaller he may be.

Granted, I don't have any 3500+ gram females, but I've seen lots of pictures of tiny males locked up with HUGE females. If she was that much bigger than him, I'd probably watch them for a bit longer than I normally would to make sure nothing "weird" was gonna happen.. other than that, I'm sure he'd be fine.

yeah i had a male pastel breed with a female thre times his size and he got the job done alright!

I have a 1500ish gram male blood hanging on to a 20+ lb blood female right now so I think the BP's will have no issues. Those males can be limber and get into spots the big ones can't.

I don't know.. If a 1500 gram blood can git er done with a 20+ lb female, I'm sure that a 500 gram male could handle any size ball you throw at him. Good luck finding a female ball much over 5000 grams though. I'd love to see a 5000 gram female at all in fact. I've never seen one that big.

With young males I try and stick to girls around 2500 grams and under...I tried my Lesser with a big girl last year that weighed close to 4000 grams...He tried like hell but just couldn't seem to get the job done...He weighed around 500 grams and was around 5 or 6 months old...

Here is a 4800g female sitting on 13 eggs and 1 slug. Bred to a 450-500g male (freak) in 06' She is now 5000+g.

Thanks for the info Jas and Bt. I will keep that in mind. I will try him and see how he does. I still got him on the food and less on the ladies. Maybe I can get 600g by dec 1.

My male to female ratio blows...because I don't have enough females up to size... anyone with extras...feel free to send em this way! :lol:
