Finally got my new Animal Plastics adult ball python racks. I got two of the 10 slot 41 quart Sterilite racks. They are freaking sweet!! The wife and I got them hauled down to the basement and sitting in their spots. I have the Heprstat Pro hooked up and fine tuning the temps before I move my adult girls into them. Took a couple pics of the room to show how much room I still have for more. So far no complaints from the wife about taking over yet another room. I'm slowing getting my melamine racks replaced with the black plastic AP's.

Thanks Claude, still sore. Bringing them to the basement didn't help it, but they weren't really heavy, just awkward to hold onto. Now, if they were melamine, I would be laying on the floor crying.

Congrats Wild Man! They look awesome! I am holding off on buying any new racks until we get a new house. My basement floor is very uneven and would warp the crap out of em....

Looks good I was actually thinking of picking some up myself.
What did you go with back heat or belly heat?

Nice pickups. You can't go wrong with AP racks! I love 'em! So Bill, it kinda sounds like you got those already pre-built for you? Did you miss out on the fun part of assembly...lol?

Yes, I pick them up pre-assembled. I wouldn't call it "missing out"......

Aw, you missed all the fun of having a semi truck pull up next to the driveway and offloading a 4x6 pallet of plastic panels onto your pickup truck, and then hiking them down to the basement one or two panels at a time...all650 lbs. Well, that was what the last shipment of 8 racks weighed...lol. Oh yea, then there's the assembly part where I couldn't feel my fingertips anymore after running the heat cable into the slot on 5 or 6 racks. I did pretty good at putting them together and was knocking them off at a rate of about one every hour....lol.

Nope, I just pulled up to the loading dock and let them load both racks into the mini van. Then drove home and carried them into the basement. All assembled, flexwatt run and ready to rock. Now they are already full of animals.

Well, I did have to drive 3 1/2 hours round trip. But worth it to save the shipping cost and assembly. :yessir:

Yeah, I'm lucky that I'm not too far away either (MN). I saved a bunch on shipping by having the racks palletized (unassembled) and sent motor freight. Yep, nice racks!

I forgot to ask....how does the heat tape lay in those racks? Is there a slight depression rabbited out of the bottom shelf so the tote doesn't rub on it? I'm only familiar with the heat cable. It sits just below the surface of the bottom panel in a T rabbit so the totes never touch it sliding in and out. Got any detail pics? Thanks!

The flexwatt has a rabbet it sits in, but it is shallow enough that is still comes into contact with the tub. :yessir: I can work on pics later....

Thats what I do.

I live outside Kansas City and I just drive up there and pick my stuff up.

I don't have to pay shipping....

And I get to say hey to Ali and Mark.

Hey,

I own 2 AP racks, but I am going to try my hand at building my own. It is not the money, I just enjoy wood working and it looks fairly easy to cut and put together. I am sure I will be right back once everything I make crumbles apart.
