Here is a link to the brand new well thought out questions for us here in BC Canada we are supposed to fill out this permit application and answer all those questions for each species we keep.

HOLY CRAP!!! My God! If ever there was "big brother" peeking over your shoulder....well, there it is. My condolences man. I feel for you, bro. Might be time to pack up and move!

And to all of us Americans here in the good ole USA...WAKE THE F*** UP!!! This crap isn't far behind the "health care" bill being argued about in Washington. I swear, our government won't be satisfied until they can control EVERY aspect of our lives....and now BC just gave them a blueprint of how to do it concerning reptiles! If HR 2811 gets defeated, I can see HSUS coming back with something like this crap!

http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/surprised/jaw-dropping.gifThat is truly frightening!
What's to say that in 10-20 years there won't be a similar form for traveling within Canada...or worse yet, one for allowing you to have children! Just change the wording from Controlled Alien Species to Controlled Human Offspring...

This SHOULD be a wake up call for us here in the U.S.. Canada was used as an example for health care and I agree with Scott, it will be a blueprint for our reptiles down the road. And the road may be shorter than we expect. Especially since there's no freakin' way any of the constrictors on the list can survive the canadian wild. I was really quite shocked that Carpets and Womas were on that list. Actually I was shocked at just how many reptiles were on that list compared to other animals.

I'm not going to sleep well tonight...http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/sad/sad0020.gif

What is everyone doing? I am in Ontario and we do not have that here yet. I would imagine everyone would just keep quiet. I know I would. This is just like when the gun registry came into effect all of a sudden everyone was asked to register their hunting rifles etc. Now they know exactly where to come and collect everything when that day comes. Absolutly infuriates me I will stop here.

That's the problem, too many people being quiet! The powers that be see a "problem" that needs to be "fixed" (as only the government can fix things)...nobody offers up any resistance, so they think they're doing the right thing. You need numbers...a LOT of people to make a big stink! Then maybe the politicians will listen out of fear of losing their jobs next election...or are you Canucks really ruled by the Queen and she's in office for life?

As for your gun rights, don't you have the NRA up there?
