I touch them once with a hook to let them know food is not involved and they come out easy. A friend has 20 or so and they are all pretty much like that from the babies up to the 10 footers. Plus there mouth is rather small. I think in all the time I have handled Blackheads. I got struck at once, but it was during feeding. And it was a hatchling. norsmis 11-14-2008, 06:19 AM Nice blackheads bro! One of the "dream" snakes for me. I see you were watching "My Name is Earl" too! I love that show! I am sure he will produce alot next year. Steven_Kelley 11-14-2008, 06:28 PM Wow those black heads are badass! Tempermeant and size seem almost too good to be true when factored in with their killer good looks!! Let's see some more!! smilin-buddha 11-14-2008, 06:42 PM When the male sheds I will get more of him less of me  earthpig23 11-14-2008, 08:32 PM yes some wicked sweet blackheads. have wanted to get a pair of these for awhile. but they will be mine oh yes they will be mine:devil: Tama 11-14-2008, 08:36 PM Breautiful blackheads. I love those snakes a lot. They are definitely on the 'someday' list here as well. Matt_J 11-15-2008, 07:26 AM Once you keep these, you'll be hooked for life. I don't think I've ever kept anything quite as 'interesting'. The feeding response can be a slight issue at times. My 9 foot female nearly nailed me a few times last feeding. I was pushing her away with 24" hemostats and got very lucky. They pretty much go INSANE when food comes in... so watch out! :) But, nothing still compares to my 25 pound Borneos... they are the KINGS of eating and hitting food like a ton of bricks! Matt Here is a baby I produced this past season. http://www.monkeyfrog.com/pythons/BHP/2008/DSCN5773.JPG |
