I recently bought an old used neodesha incubator (on guarantee that it will work fine, if not he said he would buy it back from me, and I definitely trust the guy, hes a local and does the educational exhibits at the Repticons in Florida), and I can't find any info on it. Anyone know hot it performs? Seems like it has held up well over the years but I just wanna know if anyone has used them or heard about them. I hope it works out good, will hold a lot of eggs in a pretty compact space and comes with a thermostat and built in fan and heating, all for a really good price.

The only thing I found was that monkeyfrog.com used them, maybe try to contact them.

I had one about 10 years ago. I hatches burms, balls and bloods in it. It's pretty much the same thing as their arboreal cage but with the fan and heating element.

Yeah, it looked similar to their arboreal cage, except a lot bigger. The thing is majorly large, I think it could hold 12-16 6qts total (has three levels, and I'm not sure on the dimensions, but its close to 3x3x3.

And yeah I never knew they made incubators either, but it looks like it has a good seal on it, 3 latches to shut it nice and tight. I'll be getting it Tuesday I think so I'll give a report on how it holds temps incase someone else comes across one of these relics. The Helix on it is really old, you need a mini screw driver to change the temps, and a phone cord to plug in to the wall socket.

I have one as a backup that I have had since they came out. They work great but run the fan on low and no holes in the boxes works best. Make sure it has the power box that plugs into the wall that the phone cord plugs into. Brian Sharp still uses them to hatch all his eggs in. If you have any questions on it or the control let me know. I still have instructions on them....

Oh this is awesome, thanks! I think the guy I am getting it from is getting the wire I need so I should be good to go. And its definitely comforting to hear that others are still using them. Makes me feel I got a good deal, and I LOVE a good deal.

I'd probably change the thermostat. I hear the newer Helix models are much better than the screw-type.

I was thinking of changing it to a herpstat, and then maybe using the helix for a rack system. I assume the old helix is still good, right? Just maybe not as good as some of the newer models? As in its not "useless" correct?

If it is one of the blue box Helix's dont change it! I still use them on my walk in incubator as well as the Neodesha and some other racks. I like them because they will read to the tenth of a degree and all of mine run spot on 24/7 with no issues! Only problem with them is if the probe breaks you need to send them back to Helix to get them fixed......

Yeah its one of those. And good to know Helix will replace a broken probe.

Anyone know what the heating element is like inside one of these things? Is it top/bottom/middle or all over? Thats one thing I am eager to find out.
