So I learned that lockable lids do not mean escape proof! I went to feed Grumpy on Wednesday, only to find an empty tub. GREAT!!! Hubby is not a HUGE reptile fan, so an escapee is never good news. I am racking my brain trying to figure out when the last time I had seen him was.....Friday!! Dang, he could have been out 5 days or only one. He is a very shy and high strung animal, so I bother him as little as possible. So I am tearing my rep room apart looking for him (without letting hubby know of course), and nothing...I go thru the kitchen, livingroom, laundry room, my bedroom, and my bathroom. NOTHING!! I get one of those terrible headaches from all the blood rushing to my head from looking under so much stuff. So I give up for the day. Thursday (yesterday), I decide to start looking all over again. My plan is to go thru the rep. room for about the 5th time, and then head to the other end of the house where the kids room are.

So the container with the green lid is where he escaped from. I start trying to "think" snake. So trace this pattern with your eye. Out of the tub across the top of the Aquarium to the left....

...from there, across the two racks...

Now where would you guess he might have ended up from there? The plant???

That is what I had thought the day before, and had looked all in that plant with a flash light. Since I was starting the search all over again, I looked in the plant again. However, this time I just had the thought to pick the plant up.....low and behold....BINGO!!!! Little brat!! And hubby never knew about his adventures! YEAH!!!! He was hungry too, and ate for me as well.

LMAO! Glad you found him before the hubby did. I know that wouldn't have gone over too well. And I'm very impressed on how you 'think' snake.

One of those things when you keep hondurans, they are just little Houdini's!

It's amazing some of the places you find them in. Good to see the fugitive has been recaptured!

I am very relieved he is safe and sound as well, since we are going out of town for the weekend...

Out of town.... well, I wouldn't of worried too much. I found a honduran crawling between rack shelves about 3 or 4 months ago.... he'd been loose in the house for a year!

Although, He fixed the mouse problem in the house while he was on extended vacation.... I guess he was done and decided to come back....

One of my grey rats escaped, and was missing for 2 weeks. Here is exactly how I found him...

I had done the masking tape thing to no avail, he found it, but it did not help me. I just found him as I was going to check the mail or something....LOL!

The only thing to ever escape that I didn't immediately find was a milksnake here. Damn things are insane when they are young but how a 3 foot adult male got out and disappeared I will never understand.

The hatchling rack is super tight here for them and the others, can't have things get out. Learned my lesson with them....
