BT 12-07-2009, 02:41 AM From my understanding of what I've been told - Rodent Pro doesn't breed their rodents...It's all contracted out... Jaymz 12-07-2009, 02:52 AM From my understanding of what I've been told - Rodent Pro doesn't breed their rodents...It's all contracted out... Its true Both Rodent Pro and ARS buy their rats already frozen from rodents labs. They buy the labs over stock. BT 12-07-2009, 03:04 AM Its true Both Rodent Pro and ARS buy their rats already frozen from rodents labs. They buy the labs over stock. I know Brian does...I heard that Rodent Pro actually contracts their production out to "rat farmers"... If that's the case - I wouldn't be interested in hearing about it... beclende 12-07-2009, 03:42 AM From what I understand Rodent Pro gets their rodents from a lab here in Indianapolis. They buy the labs surplus and it is sent to them frozen and they sort and sell it. Not much of a show. BT 12-07-2009, 08:54 AM I know a couple people who sell to Rodent Pro, at least that is the story they tell... My buddy Jason Feagans is friends with one of the guys that started Rodent Pro...If I remember correctly (it's been a while since I heard the story) the two guys had a falling out...Jason told me that they had (have) several people who produce everything for them...Jason lives in Indiana too... 147BOAS 12-07-2009, 08:58 AM From my understanding of what I've been told - Rodent Pro doesn't breed their rodents...It's all contracted out... i didnt know that Its true Both Rodent Pro and ARS buy their rats already frozen from rodents labs. Tell us how they do it and how they have streamlined their operation and maximized production. :dunno: i dont know...have heard some things about how they get mice and what they do befor they sell them from ...might not be true......just what some have told me...i dont order from them, so i dont know I guess they get them in a big block from harlan/sprague..unthaw them, refrez them which causes toxidia... then sell them back to you.....might be untrue, but i hear that their is a study on feeding re-frozen rodents to snakes. Dave 12-07-2009, 05:27 PM What about MiceDirect? I have been highly impressed with their product and service. mynewturtle 12-07-2009, 08:33 PM There are other mice/rat factories that I think would be an awesome show. The mouse factory is what comes to mind for me, from what I have read on forums they seem to be stellar. Jaymz 12-08-2009, 01:40 AM My buddy Jason Feagans is friends with one of the guys that started Rodent Pro...If I remember correctly (it's been a while since I heard the story) the two guys had a falling out...Jason told me that they had (have) several people who produce everything for them...Jason lives in Indiana too... Yeah now that you mention it I do remeber Jason telling me that he had started a rodent business/farm and he ended up giving it to his parents. So maybe that is one of rodent pro's suppliers. |
