I personally spoke to the "Dean of the Senate" for the state of Alabama. He is from my hometown here in north Alabama.Surprisingly,he was aware of the Reptile nation fighting S373.I assumed I would have to explain everything to him,and some things I did.He said that USARK is the most organized group that he had ever heard that faught for pet owners rights. But to make this story short,he said most politicians will ignore the facts we present unless something profound was brought to their immediate attention. So,it sounds like we are in a very tough fight with poloticians who dont give a crap.He promised to make a couple phone calls in our favor though.I invited him to come over and visit my snake room. And I think he may just do it.

Good job... hopefully if he does... he might invite a few friends to come along.

That's positive.... get one of those bps out and show him how shy a ball python can be when you wave your hand over the top of it and it balls up. Most people are under the impression that all snakes attack without being provoked.... it could have a very positive affect on him If he shows up...

I showed him a few pics from my phone and he was amazed at the Bumblebee.I told him he has'nt seen nothing yet.I also told him what some of the BP's were going for and he asked ",akes you wonder why in the world would someone want to raise puppies if snakes are that calm and easy to tend too?".My wife was a witness. He asked her what she thought and she told him about us taking some of the money and buying two Miniature Horses for our girls with it.I told him this bill would put thousands without jobs.He said he did'nt think most of the Senators were aware that this affected more than just snake owners. He made the comment that the little girl that was killed was what made Senator Nelson jump ship. But,again,he said we have to keep the letters, phone calls, and hopful meetings coming. He also suggested that supporters may want to show up outside of the hearings early, but we had to be respectful. That's all I can remember.I will ask my wife if there was anything else.Senator Denton is a good ol' country boy.I believe him when he said he would bring this up at the next appropriate meeting.

He's right about needing something profound, that would really help our cause.

Thanks for doing your part and speaking with your Senator.

This is good to hear. Make sure you post that report on the S373 Campaign forum on the USARK site under your state.
