Good gawd these things are wiggly assed worms! They never stop moving and just flail all over the place when you hold them! LOL
These guys are from the San Antonio Zoo line.

LOL!!,...very cool Robin!,....I remember corresponding with you on those over on the kingsnake forum.
Oh yeah!, that's what most very young milks do for a living when ya hold them, and I see you're finding this all out for yourself..LOL! Don't worry though, they will grow out of it, and get used to things in time. Most milksnakes settle down within a year or so, and some even much earlier than that, so keep the faith. Very slow, gentle handling is very important, I know, I've been dealing with different milks for decades.
Just don't try to hold them TOO often, they can stress rather easily at this age,..........thus, the poop! ..LOL!
Excellent gaigeae BTW!....

Hi Doug! I really don't handle them except for cleaning their enclosures because they are so clearly freaked out by handling. I just enjoy peeking in and admiring them!
Knock wood - no pooping/musking from either of these two thus far! The baby cali king - that's another story! :o

Will do! That's one of the reasons that I chose them over the MBK's, when I was on the hunt for my all black snake. I was won over by the adult size and more pure jet black of them. Males are particularly impressive!
DMong 12-30-2009, 11:51 PM HAHAHAA!, I hear ya Robin, I have TONS of milks, so when dealing with the little ones, I have to make frequent trips to the sink to wash off..LOL!
It will get much better in time though, and they usually become very easy-going when they mature more. For now though, you are the big monster that means them great bodily harm..LOL!.........or so they think!
