I tried to watch OU and Stanford today, but I just couldn't get into it. TCU and Boise St will be good and I'm thinking OSU and Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl has a chance of being a good game. Then of course watching Texas beat Forrest Gump's alma mater will be great!

OK, so I'm gonna get slammed for being a TX fan in a Bama thread! I caught all or part of the New Year's games. I'm a little worn out, but I'll watch Alamo cause I think Leach got jobbed, the Fiesta Bowl and the BCS Game. Screw Ohio State! No offense, PapaK; I worked for an OSU alum who was a total B@%^E$W@^%$W@^$%E@^!

Bama thread??? They're already outnumbered... :lmao: Texas has to bring it's "A" game, but this isn't going to be a gimme for Alabama.

This is a Bowl thread started by a 'BAMA man.And no,there will be no bashing here from me.:yessir: I really look forward to "THE" game and I am glad 'Bama plays Texas. Two teams with a great tradition, and loyal fan base will make for an instant classic in my opinion. The Alamo Bowl has turned out to be a good game. And man was I surprised to see Ohio State throttle Oregon!Arkansas was lucky today.Glad LSU got beat.Auburn was lucky also. But that game was fun to watch. It was nice to see Bowden go out a winner.I did'nt think Oklahoma would let Stanford hang around like they did,but I am also glad OU won.Gerhart is a throw-back football player. He will have a good NFL career.Florida running the score up on the Bearcats was classless.:mad:They will be sh!t without Tebow and the other 94 NFL prospects that will be going pro from that team:master:.I can't wait to get them in Tuscaloosa next year. For the most part, this bowl season has been a good one.

Ron,
You should really look into the college level football more. The excitement that is there at the stadiums is a much more organic, and feels less contrived. You will NEVER see the amount of enthusiasm at an NFL game as I saw this year when U Washington beat USC... and that was an early game in the season.

College football rules are way better, especially Over Time rules. College Football has a lot of teams that have some unique offenses. College football involves parts of the country that can't support big money pro football, but can support a great University program.

This past year I've worked the field at a Seahawks game and been in the stands at a UW Huskies game. The college game was way better (the local team lost both times).

Also, a few years ago when the Referees won the Superbowl against the Seahawks (the Steelers definitely didn't), I realized the NFL really needs to control the big winners. Don't expect Green Bay, Minnesota, or Arizona to win the big game for a LONG time. Small markets will win maybe 1 out of 5 times anymore.

The only advantage I see with the pro game is that the champion of the league is without dispute. College football never gets a real champion.

Well, the big game starts in 3 hours. I'm out to get the party started.

The Super Bowl. I never got into the college thing.
