Anyone try this? I priced it out at my local Ikea and the frame is $90 and a 2 pack of shelves is $25 so total comes out to $315. Add 85 vision tubs at $280 and you total is $595 or only $7 per tub.

That's a really nice rack setup. I love when racks use heat rope.

Thats a nice rack. i'd like to have the frame and seal it to make 4 or 5 2ft deep cages in it.

Definitely, or one nice arboreal cage!

Same here; I have never used it, but it seems safer than other options.

I was just doing the math and it looks like you can also use the ARS hatchling tubs with this as well, you will only be able to do 4 tubs wide but still 17 levels high giving you a 68 tub hatchling rack for around $1000

IKEA is a favorite spot for EURO herpers.....all my racks are modified pieces from IKEA.....cheaper than anything else out there.
only thing i dislike about IKEA made racks is that they will swell up if there's to much humidity......

Even if sealed properly Pitoon? I wouldn't know, I only use some of their tubs.

i don't seal them. so i can't answer your question. but from my experience high humidity will even make the shelves swell. so not sure sealing would make a difference.
when you mess with particle board....it's something you should expect to happen one day or another.

It look quite high. Meaning the temperature from the top shelve will be way hotter than the bottom one. As much as 10 degree of difference. Unless you use more tstats.

One way to get around that problem is putting herps that like higher temps up on top and cooler loving herps on the bottom...assuming you had multiple species.
