Now I have to see if Backwoods Farms will ship minimealworms and reintroduce myself to Rob for hornworms. It's been awhile since I had MHD babies. Might just have to do crickets till we get a bit of a warm spell.

Quig I have bred broad headed skinks and Fire Skinks in the past and be ready to have some pin head crickets or some other small inverts as food as the skinks are VERY small when they hatch out, only thing smaller I have bred was Anolis carolinensis.

I've heard five-lineds are about an inch and a half or two when first hatched. Have also heard the males will eat the young. Been contemplatin' pullin' them here shortly. I got a pin head supplier lined up already Frank :wamma:

They are comparable to the Broad headed skinks, as a matter a fact all the babies where born with 5 lines and bright blue tails as where the fire skinks, well they had the blue tails but looked like the Riopa parents.
Fun Stuff!!!!!!!
They definately need to be away from the parents.

:hijacked: Hey Frank, you still do fire skinks? Or know somebody that does? I'm lookin' for a pair maybe.

No sold all my lizards several years back, I miss them.
Nor do I know any one who does.
Not many people breed Fire Skinks, it's a shame, I bred them the first Time I tried. Very Hardy animals and from what I understand not too many people have been successful in breeding them. I do remember how I did it if you ever get them.
Mrs. Sputnik 02-04-2010, 10:42 PM Congrats Bonnie on the new cuties
anendeloflorien 02-04-2010, 10:48 PM Congrats on the babies there Bonnie!

JChandler 02-05-2010, 06:55 AM Congrats Bonnie, they are cool looking little critters!!!
You still don't see more than a handful of people around the country producing them....great job!

This batch came from Genie. Junior laid a clutch but they were all duds.
Thanks every one. They are alot of fun. Looks like one might be to weak to make it out but the others are doing nicely. Got some small crickets and I've seen a couple eat and drink so far. I prefer to feed silks, horns, and phoenix but crix will do till I get the other.
Mommy 05-12-2010, 10:24 PM They are so cute! I forgot how exciting it can be seeing hatchlings. Can't wait to get a house so I can start breeding again.
