...actually name your animals? Mine all have names. I try to search for names that fit their personality, just like I would for a dog or cat. How about you? Just numbers (Jeff) or names?

Hehehe..Ive named a few.

When I had a lot of snakes I didnt name them. I had tons of colubrids. Just too many to name. I did name a few of the boids based on their personality. I had a pair of out of control burmese named Axe and Smash.

Nowadays I have fewer animals so some have names. Ill mention a few.

I have a blue tongue skink named Bluebeard for obvious reasons.

I have another blue tongue named S**tpickle which is a long story, lol!

My croc monitor is named Scarface for two reasons. First, he is wild caught so he has a noticeable scar on his face. Duh. And the second the banter I get to have with him is just too funny.

Speaking of the GF she named some of the leopard geckos. We have Mork and Mindy, Tarzan and Jane, Pumpkin and Cheese. Yeah, my names are cooler.

I think its easier to name lizards than snakes. They have a little more personality.

Yeah I name ALL of the animals, even the rats (not the ones that are going to get eaten though my girl thinks if she names them fast enough that means they won't be fed off :nono:).

Right now I'm all snakes, once we start breeding though I don't think I'm gonna have time or energy to name everything that we hatch out unless they're keepers.

Most everything has names. We're still working on number IDs that we're happy with.

My kids name all mine within 24 hours and then it sticks.

It's also hard to tell my wife that I'm excited about the outcome of number 23and number 12 next season. In a small collection the names seem to be of some use.

LOL, my BCIs name is George.

Some of them have names, some don't. The first 10 or so got names, now they only get a name if they "earn" it. Like, we have a rat that kind of moves it's head back and forth all weird, so my wife named her Stevie Wonder. Our biggest ball got the name Bertha. One of our ATB's got named Hiss, because of the EXTREME resemblance to the snake in the Disney Robin Hood. Our blood got named Damian because when we went to go pick him up, he was in a tub of water soaking, and he would lunge at anyone that came close enough to him. We decided to have the owner of the shop probe him before we left, and he left a tooth in on of the employee's hand. Strangely enough, he was a sweetheart when we got him home. He just really didn't like those people, apparently. Everybody else just has an ID.

So it appears most name their animals to some extent.

We started off naming our reptiles... Slim, Storm, Raven, Sunny... But now we have way too many.

All my permanent residents have names - I usually name them according to their color, morph, or markings... or if I just think a name is cool. I am bad at coming up with names so I have a baby name book.

My dad found the book in the living room one day while I was at work. You can imagine what was going through his mind for 8 hours until he could ask me about it when I got home. Seriously funny ****.

I vote for names if they're keepers, #'s just take the fun out of it. Ya know, 'Good morning, AF2087' just doesn't have the same ring...

I did name my crested gecko (she's a tweak, so her name is Tweak).... and a few of my adult females... other than that, I don't go out of my way to come up with names.

crested geckos and uro have names...the balls have names for the most part. all clubrids are named by what they are..the lavendar...the MBK..the anery male..you get the point lol of course my childrens python has a name

My boyfriend named J-Lo and Libra for me, and he names most of the rats too. It's my way of getting him to take a vested interest in my hobby - he's not a snake person, but he'll hold them every now and then, but only the ones he's named.

I like numbers...I do have names but normally it is just the biting ones that get a good name.

I've had up to 50 ball pythons at one time, Right now I have about 35 and every one of them has a name. The only thing that doesn't is the radiated ratsnake. I think I'll name him "Hyper"

All of ours have names. However, my animals only have one name. My significant other has the following titles for her pets:

Capt. Baby Sinclair - blue-tongued skink
Prof. Poggly Hamlin - western hog
George and Roz Sanderson - pair of Saharan uros

As Jeff stated...most are numbered. The chosen few have names.
