Beautiful animals. I am not a boa person, so can you educate me on what a Sears line is?

I believe the name is/was Bob Sears , started his own line of Hog Islands with original WC stock.

If I'm wrong , feel free to correct me.

Thanks. Now another question...are they a local specific or more of a line specific boa?

Local Specific. Hog Island is a rough english translation of the island these came from.

It was believed for years that collectors cleaned the island of snakes but from what I've been hearing its possible they missed some and the wild population is rebounding. I haven't confirmed that yet so don't hold me to it.

So there are not different locals of Hog Island, that in itself is the local?

Yes.

Very nice! Now this may just be me talking out of my :ass: but isn't there a lot of problems with people mixing other locales in with the Hogs (and I'm assuming other locales) and then trying to sell them as pure Hog Island Boas? I mean I think they are beautiful but are you sure they are a pure line? Is there such a thing?

Some have yes. There are hypo hogs referred to as het sunset with the Sunset being hypo hog x hypo hog.

I was sold a Hog/CA cross as a bottom end Hog Island and eventually put it down once it was determined it was a cross. The animal had only 1 redeeming quality and it wasn't enough.

You can add me to that list too Bry! Sweet hogs brother! I had a beautiful hog from Alan Bosch years ago and kick myself for ever selling it.
And you are correct in the name. There is also a line started by the late Loyd Lemke but not sure if there are any pure ones of his line left....

I stand corrected, Lolo informed me they are not Sears line but are pure Hogs. I guess somebody decided not to put their name to them.
