We need more politicians like this to speak up, and I think it's time we took his advice! :yessir:

View Full Version : Evan Bayh...I could kiss him! MikeCurtin 02-16-2010, 04:15 PM We need more politicians like this to speak up, and I think it's time we took his advice! :yessir: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts1134 SNSnakes 02-16-2010, 04:57 PM WOW! A senator that was "easily going to win a third term" retiring because of the gridlock and partisan politics in the Senate? Interesting! I guess that makes him human. I, for one, would not be able to do that job...too much partisanship, backstabbing, lying, cheating, etc. for me. An honest politician is about as rare as blue ball python! 2kdime 02-16-2010, 05:10 PM And shallow me had written them ALL off as corrupt liars.... MikeCurtin 02-16-2010, 06:11 PM What I like about this is that he seems to understand that many of the people leaving because of the corruption and partisanship will be the honorable ones. Therefore, he has instructed the American people to clean house for them! JChandler 02-16-2010, 07:49 PM Read that in the paper this morning, really cool...would be interesting to see him run as governor of Indiana.... Damon Theis 02-16-2010, 08:27 PM While i like the sentiment, there is likely a planned reason for it. Time will tell if he "makes a difference" in his next pursuit. But "private sector" was mentioned? wtf does that mean? is he going to become a lobbiest? MikeCurtin 02-16-2010, 08:42 PM Wow, Damon....you exhibit the kind of cynicism that can only be the result of a true understanding of our nation's current political pool! Hopefully his words to Americans about sending the incumbents a message is a good indicator that he does not plan to become a lobbyist. I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic on this one. Damon Theis 02-16-2010, 08:47 PM I agree Mike. I'll be watching it with interest. The Rev 02-16-2010, 08:49 PM He's sort of on the right track but I don't know if his motives are true... Tama 02-16-2010, 08:55 PM Very interesting. Can't wait to see what our state does with this.:yessir: SNSnakes 02-16-2010, 11:34 PM Maybe he's going to do the same thing our former WIMP of a Senator did...Mark Dayton used to be our MN Senator...he was the ONLY Senator to evacuate from DC when they had that anthrax/mail scare a few years ago...THE ONLY ONE....wimp!! Well, anyway, his ugly wuss head has reappeared to run for Governor of our state on the Democratic ticket! He has the Union endorsement so it looks like he has a chance this Fall. Oh yeah, he also "came out" and admitted he has suffered from depression for quite a few years. Yep, just the guy we need in charge...NOT!!! Oops, got carried away. Back on topic, maybe Bayh will run for IN governor? MikeCurtin 02-17-2010, 12:50 AM Yeah, like I said, it's the advice he gave upon leaving that stands out to me. If he chooses to politicize his decision in order to score points for a gubenatorial run, then, he's no better than any of the others. JChandler 02-17-2010, 07:18 AM I haven't read that article you posted Mike until this morning, a little different then the one that I read but overall the same.... I should point out that he was already governor before he went to the senate so I really don't know all the rules on people being governor and if a rerunning is even possible... http://nwitimes.com/news/breaking/article_a30f7b5e-1a4b-11df-89ef-001cc4c03286.html Quote that I reread finding this article this morning that makes me a little skeptical.... "I am an executive at heart. I value my independence. I am not motivated by strident partisanship or ideology" We'll have to wait and see :dunno: SNSnakes 02-17-2010, 01:47 PM I haven't read that article you posted Mike until this morning, a little different then the one that I read but overall the same.... FRoberts 02-17-2010, 05:57 PM He will probably run for president...trust no one...it's all an angle to me... Tama 02-17-2010, 08:11 PM He will probably run for president...trust no one...it's all an angle to me... Funny you should say that since a guy came into the pharmacy yesterday claiming he knew that he resigned so he could start the campaigning for 2012. SNSnakes 02-18-2010, 03:27 PM Funny you should say that since a guy came into the pharmacy yesterday claiming he knew that he resigned so he could start the campaigning for 2012. Makes sense to me. Our governor (Tim Pawlenty) decided not to seek re-election this year and, although he hasn't said anything outright, the thought is he might make a run for the presidency. I see an onslaught of GOP candidates in 2012...lol. FRoberts 02-18-2010, 04:12 PM Funny you should say that since a guy came into the pharmacy yesterday claiming he knew that he resigned so he could start the campaigning for 2012. and what better angle for that then what he is spouting off....be alright if he actually believes it and it's not a show for the masses... BryGuy 02-23-2010, 10:06 PM Bayh is known to be a spineless wimp from all I've read about him. He's either seen what's happening to democrats similar to him in "easy re-elections" or there's got to be a mistress with pictures somewhere for him to up and out of the blue resign because of "partisan gridlock" he's put up with his whole career until now and suddenly chooses to be fed up with. Didn't tell his staff or other party leaders beforehand. My spidey senses are tingling... SNSnakes 02-24-2010, 02:22 AM Bayh is known to be a spineless wimp from all I've read about him.
