I was hoping we could get some involvement and get a group of breeders to try new breeding ideas this season and keep good records and share results. I believe we get caught up in the breeding recipes........This temp ,That Date ,Incubate this temp, This medium, Etc. If we want to learn from our hobby we need to try new ideas and keep acurate records and we may find something we try may be beneficial and more productive or healthier for our animals. If we remain open minded and share our experiences we all will benefit. So brainstorm and think of something you can try this season like for example . Size of females, Age of Females,Temps, Humidity, Light cycle,Rotate males,Rotate females, incubation , You get the idea! You dont have to make changes to your whole breeding group and actually that would be better because we could compare data from the two groups. I will be trying to breed a few females in 28 qt tubs this season ? Remember stay open minded! I know providing the temp gradient will be the challenge . Also I will be trying 2 males of co dom morphs to see if I can get multiple morphs in a single female. Also to see if using the two males will entice breeding. Anyone have the balls to maternally incubate? Who will be the pioneers of new breeding techniques ? Let the games begin.........Bryan will be devoting two females to 28 qt tubs and multiple male co dom breeding.

What breeding recipes? I let the snakes do there business. No cooling no waiting for age or weight. It works for me and them. The snakes know what to do already. Why try and figure it out lol..

Good idea West Coast. I will be sure to keep better records this season so I can share them. One thing that I did differently than most breeders last season is introduce my females into my male’s 32 qt tubs. I had great results. Nine out of the ten females I bred last season gave me eggs.

My opinion is as long as the male is producing sperm then he could potentially go. The smallest male I have bred is a 600+ gram male, but I am sure I will breed them smaller than that in the future. I will watch the smaller males much more closely though.

I won't change too much...I'm a firm believer in if it ain't broke don't fix it...I got 30 clutches form 37 girls bred...I did get more slugs than I'll admit too so I won't heat my girls up so fast and I will actually cool them down a little this year...Other than that - It'll be business as usually at the Taylor house...

Bryan - I bred several girls in 28 qt tubs - No problem...

I did that as well in the past. I went back to taking the males to the females just because it seemsed easier to keep track. Pretty much same results both ways for me.

I haven't had much luck with the super small guys but I did get some good action from a coulple 5month olds last season..
