When we played this on a game with the Wii it is: slide the rock -- use the brush to make it go faster -- goal is to get it in the very center of the circle. Closest rock wins.:dunno::dunno::lmao:

I believe the broomers can brush the ice in different ways to slow it down and make it go left or right a bit.

If you listen to them play, the person who gets the thing going will usually yell at the broomers telling them which way it needs to go.

I didnt think the brooming makes it go faster.

I still have yet to figue out what talent/skill this requires...

Yeah you can knock the oppositions rock out of the way sometimes it pays off sometimes not.

By brooming, the friction melts the ice and the rocks will slide better/faster on wet ice. I understand that part. It's the scoring and strategy that confuse me. :lmao:

Tragic training accident if memory serves me right, took a broom handle to the eye socket (all the way through the brain) during a freak training accident that resulted in a 3 person pile up on aisle 13....

What is sad is that curling was actually a required gym class where I grew up. We actually had to walk to the rink in the sub zero temps to do stupid CURLING. It blew. It's not even one of those sports where you think mabey it just sucks to watch but would be fun to play. It just is dull.:mad:

(Unlike Scott though) Loved going to the rink for hockey!! Never complained about how cold it was if you could lace up the skates!:rockon:

The fat gym teacher loved curling, so therefore forced it onto us. She was actually on a curling "league". Personally I think it was because bowling was to much work for her...

A set of the "rocks" cost around $8000. I think curling should be done bare foot and like Scott stated intoxicated. I thought the trampoline in the summer olympics was bad. Hopefully the next sports they introduce will be kick ball, dodge ball and for the winter snow ball fight and team snow man building.
