View Full Version : Sonoran Leopard
ChristianC 11-23-2008, 02:07 AM This has got to be one of my top favorite projects. You got locality and morphs in one project. This year I'm trying for het leopards with a pretty female Sonoran paired with my male sonoran leopard produced by Bruke Reptiles. Next year he will be paired with a 100% sonoran hypo making Hypos het leopard (all still 100% sonoran ) I plan to do a little mixing with colombian morphs also. maybe bring the sharp albino in to the mix :)
Almost hard to believe it's a boa constrictor huh?

ChristianC 11-23-2008, 02:28 AM Thanks guys! I love'um!
Sputnik 11-23-2008, 02:31 AM Ok, I'm absolutely sold on that.... what are they like temperament wise?
ChristianC 11-23-2008, 02:39 AM sonorans are very hissy.. they have a funny bluff that they do.. they will puff and hiss but display no other signs of being angry. I have never been struck at by any of my sonorans. They are dwarfs so they stay small.. an awesome breed for sure!
ChristianC 11-23-2008, 04:17 AM here is a photo of him i took tonight. He has the right idea, just the wrong end! ;)

Sputnik 11-23-2008, 04:31 AM Oh if you get babies.... well, I'll be really interested. What do they max out at size wise?
ChristianC 11-23-2008, 04:43 AM 6' would be a large female.
Sputnik 11-23-2008, 04:49 AM 6' would be a large female.

norsmis 11-23-2008, 09:13 AM Nice boas Bro! That pattern is out of this world! The size is perfect also. This is why I was always attracted to Hog Islands because of the small adult size. Good luck and I hope the little guy figures out Tab A into Slot B for you!
papaK 11-23-2008, 01:27 PM Awesome snake and great pictures as well.... I want some leopards!!
Rapture 11-23-2008, 01:29 PM I want in that project soooo bad

Can you Christian give me details on them as not familiar with care and always do homework before getting anything.
FloridaHogs 11-23-2008, 02:22 PM Now that is one hot boa!!
Wow that is gorgeous. We've Sonorans in the house, but not the leopard version....might have to get on the list.....
Wow, nice boa! Keep us updated with him.
That is one beautiful boa. May have to add that to the list of additions here as well. Up to Jeff though since he's the one dealing with them.

Sonorans are easy to keep. 60%+ humidity, 80-90 degrees variant temps. During breeding i guess it's best to have a night drop that dips into the lower 70's We will see how I do this year with this setup. :)
jknudson 11-23-2008, 08:54 PM I think this is the third of forth time I've been back to this thread, those little leopards are awesome, and the hypo sonorans themselves aren't too shabby. Seeing all these sweet little dwarf boas is painful!
Larry 11-23-2008, 09:15 PM Damn man those are pretty freaking dramatic.. They don't look like boa constrictors at all. Way cool project my man. I'd love to hear how that project progresses so keep us updated brother!
Good luck this season.
mynewturtle 11-23-2008, 09:30 PM Very nice.. they look amazing I want!!
