I ran all 3 in about 4 hours, 20 minutes.... of course the guy who won the last Honolulu marathon I was in (a Kenyan) ran it in 2 hours, 10 minutes. He was running faster at mile 21 than I have ever ran in my life!!!! wow that's great bud. most i ever did was 1/2 marathon. i've done that (13.1) twice, and i've done a bunch of 10 mile races, lately 10k (6.2 for all the non-metrics out there) seems like all i've got time to train for. it's a big time commitment to ramp up for them long ones, and though i don't mind the feeling of being in that kinda shape, i can't seem to make it a priority lately. amazing how consistent your times were for three separate runs like that. fastest i ever ran the half was 1:53. all 'a my runnin' buds and gals are faster than me but i don't care. i only run cause if i don't sign up for a race, i've got nothing to force me to stay in shape. it ends up being the need to not totally embarrass myself that makes me do it. don't run 'cause i love it, that's for sure. good to know you got the jam brotha, one more cool thing we didn't know about you. i admire the drive it takes to go that long, it's alot to go half that as far as i'm concerned. ck constrictorkeeper 12-11-2008, 09:36 PM You got a point there, but I'm yet to see them defend themselves. For 2 months before the marathons, we would run 15 to 20 miles everyday with a Saturday run of the full 26 miles. I also did the perimeter run on Oahu which is a 5 person team with a van. Each team member would run for 5 miles and then get back in the van and someone else would run 5 miles. Every person ran 25 miles. It sucked getting out of that van to run again after sitting there for an hour or more..... I also did the Batan Death March twice. Its 20 miles in full combat gear.... Talk about shin splints!!! OUCH!!!!!!! Southern Wolf 12-11-2008, 09:56 PM My hats off to you guys... I had to run a mile at the academy... and it about killed me.
