View Full Version : Half Dwarf Het Leucistic eggs

We got a clutch of half dwarf het leucistic eggs yesterday. 10 good eggs :wamma: and 9 duds :eek:

We bred one of our dwarf males to our hypo het leucistic female. These are not related to our half dwarf het albino granites that were produced in 07 as we used a different male.

For those that haven't heard about the half dwarfs, we bred a dwarf male to an albino granite female and got babies in 07. The babies have maxed out at 8 ft for the girls and 6 ft for the boys. We currently have 3 females that are gravid, so we should get eggs from them very soon.

Wow, very cool project! So we may get to see a dwarf leucistic burm someday? How big are the 100% dwarfs?

100% dwarf females max at 7 ft and males 5 1/2 ft. We thought the half dwarfs would reach 10 ft, but they stopped at 6 and 8 ft. The male that bred the het leucistic is about 4 ft and he's an 07.

Thanks for the comments. It's a cool project if the govt would back off, although the dwarfs have been reclassified. They are no longer python molurus, they are python bivittatus progschai, but that doesn't help with the half dwarfs.

Awesome clutch guys, know how you feel with half the clutch duds, just had a ball drop 6 good and 6 slugs. Its a big smack in the face to know you could have had twice as many eggs.

No, this was a true dwarf to the het lucy female. We are still waiting on eggs from the half dwarf girl your boy mated with. We'll post pics if she ever lays.

LOL...Just checking, just had to ask...Glad to know my boy knows how to do his job!!
