earthpig23 11-25-2008, 02:42 PM Well I am being different this year. Last year I spent trukey day eating crappy food out in zector and got the hell blown out of us by rockets the day before. So want to do what I want this year
and since I used to do a 2-3 house thing with my parents inlaws and other inlaws (long story) Now that my parents got a divorce while i was deployed I decided to stay around the house and if they want to visit me tey can stop by they know where I live lol
I am eating this big richy rchy style buffet at the country club. My brother works there and family can come. Sure and the hell and rich so they will love me up in there club lol
FloridaHogs 11-25-2008, 02:50 PM Big tradational tado at my moms. My parents and sibling live in town (7 miles away) so we all gather over there. We each bring two dishes and mom does the rest. We don't roast / bake our turkey, but fry it! Yum yum....now I am hungry!
Steven_Kelley 11-25-2008, 03:11 PM I'm going to be having Turkey day over at Colleen's Parents house...
Her parents are preparing a HUGE thanksgiving dinner as well as tons of desserts and treats afterwards!
Might give the pied and a couple others some thanksgiving rats as well considering we're so thankful for them! They need to eat too!!
I am staying home and the family is going the my wife's parents house so I get a few quiet days to play snakes uninterrupted....... :)
Larry 11-25-2008, 07:18 PM Brother we'll be having two T-days one for just Ol' lady me and the kids and another one for the whole family. I won't be travelling though. My Ol' lady can cook up one hell of a bird. I can't wait..:)

rabernet 11-26-2008, 06:24 AM I'm staying home - me and the boyfriend. I'll still cook a traditional turkey dinner with the trimmings - just wish we knew someone who is alone this holiday we could invite over. We'll likely take some plates of food up to the folks that work at our local convenience store that had to work on Thanksgiving.
My folks are in NC and I HATE travelling on Thanksgiving, would rather spend Christmas with them. Karl's father is in FL and his mom in VA. I've actually not been with family on Thanksgiving for some 10+ years now. Makes me kinda sad now.

Thats awesome Robin. I miss being in the Army as there was always some soldiers in my platoon who didnt have a place to go so they ended up at our house. I did my best to give them a feeling of home as I know how it was as young soldier being away from the family around the holidays.
I am sure those people will enjoy your generosity Robin! :yessir:
norsmis 11-26-2008, 06:32 AM Hope everyone has a good one!

Aww, thanks! I actually came up with what I thought was an awesome idea for my company to do. Came up with it too late for this year, but ran it by my HR department this week, and they loved it.
Next year, several weeks before Thanksgiving, we'll send out a company wide memo asking for any employees who are staying in the local area for Thanksgiving that has room for one more to "adopt" a co-worker who may be alone on Thanksgiving.
We'll have those willing to host a co-worker to sign up to be host families, and those who will be alone to sign up to be "adopted". We'll then match folks up geographically and it's a way for us to also get to meet other co-workers that we wouldn't otherwise have known (we have about 500-600 employees in Atlanta and a couple thousand worldwide).
We'll do this for all of our US offices. I'm super excited about this - I don't think anyone should have to spend Thanksgiving alone, just because they don't have family locally and can't travel.
WinstonHS 11-26-2008, 08:41 AM I'm a student so I am just heading over to the Ol' parents house.
AaronP 11-26-2008, 09:23 AM For once all my family is coming to me rather than me going to them, so all I gotta do is drive 1 hour west to meet them :).
constrictorkeeper 11-26-2008, 09:51 AM We ended up with 15 gallons or so of that pumpkin cooked down for pie making.
