Wow, that's an impressive dog! Glad she made it through all right, hopefully they didn't kill the rattlesnake for defending itself.

I bet if the dog was NOT there, the woman would have never known about the rattler and the rattler would have just sat peacefully in the flower bed, and nobody would have got bitten. BUT, you put a yapping dog inches away and...bang! Stupid dog.

Pretty much, the whole "saved my life" is just way over blown.... The dog was just keeping watch over it's yard when it spotted the intruder.... dogs tend to stick their noses way to close to things like this, not surprising it got bit when there was probably no reason for anyone or anything to get bit!
