Someday when I have the space I would love to get into monitors. The closest I've come to getting one was this guy at the Sacramento show. EBV was having a raffle for him.

try the kid thing before you can say for sure.
if you don't like it, just trade it for a varanus.

They definitely will probably get in less trouble, unless your kids are angels (who are you kidding, we all know that no child is an angel), you'll probably have much less stress with the monitor. I'm thinking that when I get a bigger house, I'll try to have enough room for both. Luckily, my wife has said that we will not have to get rid of the retics or monitor if we have children.. So, I figure, it may be worth it, and if not, there's always the slave trade.. :lol:

Good point.. I've been considering feeding my sister's dog to one of them lately (she's been staying with us, and her dog is the most annoying animal on the planet). It would make sense to just feed them off.. It's a shame it takes 9 months to get a "litter". :lol:
