My lone female tries to take her food down sideways, or whichever way is fastest. They don't call them hogs just for the turned up nose. Haha!

However they grab is how they swallow. The are not to concerned with how they eat their food, just that it gets in their bellies!

Havin' a time tryin' to get him switched over Frank. He's brumated two winters now without a problem. I'm just waitin' for the amphibs to come out of hibernation up here so I can start feeding him again. This brumating does seem to be stunting his growth though. This will be his second full year with me and he hasn't shed yet.

I know Jenea will disagree..but I do not think you should switch them over.....Fenbendazole and Flagyl...aka...metronidazole once a year...is the ticket..IMO....

How ever she hits is how she tries to swallow.

My het albino female always goes for the butt end no-matter how her food is presented. Most of my colubrids I just tail, with her I tease and lay it down on bottom of her tub. Otherwise she climbs right up the mouse's side and goes for the butt grab, or continues up the tail towards my fingers and it freaks me out! LOL

Just fed my female last night, and she took it sideways and folded it in half. Quite the sight! Haha!
