I am really getting more into the kings even with the slow growing, they have alot of personality....may even venture into some of the cali ones that I have never been a fan of but they are growing on me.

Thanks for looking!

Another great looking king Jeff! Kings do have a way of growing on you..... and musking on you too!!!! The cali's are really bad about musking. And it seems like they have like a gallon of that stinky stuff stored up!

Thanks...I did have a banded cali years back, the thing hated me and everyone around him..soured me off them for awhile but so far I only have a couple little MBK's that musk me.

The MBKs, at least mine, grew out of the musking. I had a cali king for 5 years and she wasnt aggressive but musked every time I picked her up. I would pick her up, hold her over her cage until she musked, and then do what I needed to do.
I also had mean ass cali that was like a jack-in-the-box. He was one I used a tub lid to shield my face with when I opened his cage. And he was a freaking sniper too... he could nail you from 3 ft away!

I expect certain behavior from the kings now...maybe a runner, maybe a musker but I don't even consider the biting stuff anymore so it always surprises me when one does.

I have one snow corn that is acting more and more like a king...I breed this sweetheart so I know where the bloodline is from and still makes me think sometimes

I hear ya Bro! I have a 6 ft female corn that I use a hook for. She WILL bite every chance she gets and doesnt let go. But she is an old girl and deserves to be cranky i suppose. I think she is going on 11 years old now......

Always loved kingsnakes. Used to have a bunch of 'em.

Thats a neat looking guy. Nice pattern. The thing I liked about the kings was the variety. And I dont mean morphs I just mean the diversity of their patterns and coloration.

Ours hasn't either, not a 50/50, but still a nice cal king!

Splendida are flat out awesome snakes!!! I have a breeding pair that I'm going to pair up next season for the first time. I've had nothing but good experiences with these snakes.

I've got to disagree with the statement about Desert Kings being slow growers. Mine are both absolute chow hounds and will eat every single day if I let them. I feed them twice a week as it is. They have both bulked up and put on weight extremely fast. Only recently with the drop in temps due to winter coming on have they started slowing down on their feedings.

Also, the splendida have never musked me or pooped on me. My Pueblen Milks, Cal Kings, and Eastern Kings take a dump on me every chance they get but never the splendidas.

These are really awesome king snakes.

Thanks and I should have said the growth rate is slow compared to some other colubrids to me at least...
