So this past season I bred my high white pied male to a bunch of really nice normal females. When the babies came out I was bummed because most were male. However, the babies were awesome. About 50 - 60% of them (I should count) do not look like normal ball pythons. They actually look like low white pieds.

Talking with Graziani, he said that Pete has a line of pieds that do this. (I got my pied from Pete a few years back) It acts like a dominant gene, thus the reason why 50-60% look like this. He also said that if bred to a spider, it does crazy things to the spider pattern. Greg also thought maybe it was only male that would be produced like this as he's only produced males. However, I told him I have some females that look like this too.

This is not meant to be a shameless plug, but you can see a picture of a male here: http://sunshinestateexotics.com/products-page/100-het-pied/

What do you guys think about this? Do any of you work with this gene or have it?

The original animal that started it was a female. It does do some cool things with a spider. Any other pictures of them?

If you click on the picture on my site more should pop up. Let me know if it doesn't. Those are all I have right now. I'll have to take more of the others.

I have been out Gregs place and his were REALLY extreme. However I have not seen any offspring from those het to spider breedings. Are there any pics out there.

when you breed jungle spider het pieds to pieds you get the pied version pete hatched them this year but they died out of the egg and they had body pattern

Yea Larry good luck with them I've heard Greg G talk about those wicked het pieds from pieds line, from what I understand the homo pied still looks the same as the regular pied.

My question is does it do anything different in these wicked combos? Either way you cut it they are really cool and interesting..

Thanks, Larry. Yes, my pied male still looks like a high white pied.
