View Full Version : Anybody have or breed......? Derek Roddy 05-03-2010, 09:44 AM Eastern Hog Nose snakes? The orange phase?....or ANY really? Haha. Cheers, D. xanaxez 05-03-2010, 10:29 AM Jenea aka Floridahogs does. although i'm not sure which type she breeds. Quig 05-03-2010, 10:59 AM Derek, I've got a WC orange phase boy but can't find him a girlfriend. Derek Roddy 05-03-2010, 11:08 AM Do you what area he's from? I'm going up to have a look in a few weeks...up to S. Carolina (home) I know where I can find some really nice ones....if I'm lucky... that is! Haha. Was just curious how many people were trying to breed them. I had at least 15 -20 of them as a kid growing up....and I never had the associated problems with feeding them mice, etc. Wonder if it is a "locale" thing?...and, I was just lucky in being in an area where they did eat mice? D. Quig 05-03-2010, 11:56 AM I'm in the northern part lower of Michigan. He's the only orange I've EVER seen. That was one of the deciding factors in my keeping him. I've made half hearted attempts to switch him over but with no luck. I just brumate him over winter and start feeding toads and frogs as soon as they become available in the spring. D. Derek if you have a locale that naturally eats mice and you can duplicate them...they would be worth ALOT more then any other ones out there....esp if they are colorful... I would think so too. FloridaHogs 05-09-2010, 09:10 PM I am trying to Derek, but have had some set backs. I am trying to establish a breeding group again. Males seem to be abundant.....females harder to find. One problem with easterns, is that the market is really restricted because they are protected in so many states. Makes it harder to get good specimens. |
