View Full Version : Little kids on RR
Stillwellserpents 05-11-2010, 06:57 PM This is a message to all little kids that call in to RR that are not mature enough to ask a decent question. Recently on the tortoise show some kid mad a racest remark and it made me mad. Everytime someone calls in I dread before we know who it is, that it is a inmature 10 year old. So if your reading this drop your balls before you call in.
Just a little rant,
Jordan:yessir:
JChandler 05-11-2010, 07:01 PM Even if it pisses you off I wouldn't give him or her (couldn't honestly tell) the attention that they obviously wanted...
Matt S. 05-11-2010, 07:18 PM It wasn't me. :/

Best thing to do is ignore it, theirs always going to be a racist in this world and hobby. age isn't going to make a difference. showing that it pissed you off only shows them you have a weakness and they will then attack that weakness. all we can do is show them we are bigger and better people by ignoring it.
HiImSteveDuh 05-11-2010, 10:10 PM It kills me seeing other minors doing stuff like this in this hobby. It is VERY hard to be taken seriously as a minor in this hobby, even though I have around $5,000 in snakes now, they see that I'm young and many adults in the hobby don't take me seriously at all. Not so much on this forum, but especially talking to people at expo's is hard when you don't have the animals there with you to back up your claims. Me saying "oh yea, i have a few of those Im breeding too this year!" "sure you do kid, now leave me along and go buy a corn snake or something and a 10 gallon and get out of my hair, I have realy customers to tend to!"
Not that anyone would be rude enough to say that outloud to me, but they still give me that tone and general idea.
My own little rant. lol

Hey man- I'm in my early 20s and I still have this problem at the bigger shows.... A few years ago (I was 20) I tried to buy a trio of CB Emeralds at the NARBC show and stood at the table for 45 mins- the guy ended up asking for a deposit for him to get them out of the tubs and even take the time to show me the animals. Needless to say he lost that sale.....
Anyway-- Just lettin' ya know you aren't the only one out there with that problem.

2kdime 05-12-2010, 01:32 PM Tuning into the show now.....
That remark as entirely uncalled for.
Is it possible guys to have a delay so that anything like that could be deleted out before we actually hear it? Kind of like what radio stations do.....
Just a thought.

No, and it isn't just age, either. At expos, vendors will pay attention to young boys with their parents with them before they pay attention to a 40 year old woman with a 2 year old girl. What could I and my daughter possibly want with a reptile??? I must just be waiting for my husband and son or something.
:)
Kerig3 05-12-2010, 02:34 PM Vendors take one look at me an think I'm an easy target to make $$$. :(
Go figure... :dunno:

IMO sex, age or race should never be an issue, some of my best sales at shows are from women want geckos. And as long as a kid's parents know what there getting into, not a problem. But yes i do see how alot of vendors dont pay attention to females...unless their hot..lol, jk...but for-real tho, the more attractive females get all the attention at the middle aged, mid-life crisis guy breeder. Once hot girl leaves they say something dumb like" i would let her play with my snake"...like they are 16...the things you hear as a vendor......
or having an attractive female at your booth....it always gets all the guys to your table....
