View Full Version : Mission Sunglow accomplished...

So, I couldn't afford to save up for a Sunglow, so instead I decided to get the genes and make my own. I figured if i could just get one for me to keep, then I'd be happy as a tick on a dog.

Well, I hit the odds pretty good end of March, had a high number of Sunglows in the litter, and several well worth keeping. LOL

This first one was picked out by Bryons better half like at birth. I didn't even get a chance to see her shed before she was claimed. Lucky for Laura.

At birth, and a little before shipping...

These next ones are keepers. First up will be Woody, my male. Then will come Lucy, followed by Rosy.

These pictures are a couple months old I think. They all look better now too. Do you think Rosy got her dads Coral gene? LOL

But now I don't think I'm satisfied. I figure if I could do this on my first attempt, then maybe another selective pairing could make something better, or at least a couple more like Rosy. That would be nice to have a male like her.

Anyway, thanks for looking!
Rick

Thanks! Does that make me like an honorary Lt or something?

I couldn't be happier with the results. There was actually 9 Sunglows born, but one was still born. Out of the 8, there was only one that was average IMO.

Here's another female I sorta regret letting go...

Sunglows are neat. I love the way the Salmon gene combines with stuff. Gonna have some fun with that gene in the future.

Thanks for all the nice replies. :yessir:

Thanks for the nice replies! Sure was a surprise come counting time. But I sure ain't gonna cry about it. LOL

Gonna try an '06 daughter, of the dam of this litter, with the father of this litter in another year or two. See what happens with those two. The '06 girl retained more color then her mom did, so maybe my DH will go well with her.

Thanks again!

She was just bragging about that earlier today. And can I just tell ya how much more fun it is to see that sexy little thing in a tub here than in a picture at your place?

Aurora & Sammy did a damn fine job on this litter brother! Damn fine job indeed!

Glad to hear that Bro. They gobble down some food for you yet? Aura would beet me at the lip of the tub ½ the time, like, "hurry up! Gimme gimme gimme" LOL

Thanks for the comps everyone! Now if Bryon would get it in gear and have some babies, I might can get me some different genes to work with. ;)

Aura has. Mayhem is still in blue and decided she'll be the shy type until she changes clothes.

Wow! Figured Mayhem woulda dropped that thing by now. Sure it will come any day now.

Try Barry White. The base carries through the air further, so they feel it better.
