On Thursday June 3 2010 my 5th litter of boas was born. I was lucky enough to witness the entire birth from start to finish. She was uncomfortable all day and I knew we were getting close so I had my eye on her through out the day.

The litter was from a Reverse Stripe Panama male to a Stav Line Hypo female. When I purchased my pair of Reverse Stripes I was told they were a dominant gene. I really liked the Hypo Reverse Stripe Panama's and since they are all "centrals" I crossed the Panama to the Nic which are countries that border one another.

As you can see from the photo's not only are there 18 babies (10 Hypo's and 8 Normals) not a single one has even a hint of striping. I guess they aren't dominant!

At any rate I'm just happy to have living babies. I'm sure the reverse stripes are genetic as quite a few have come in. I can say though they are not dominant so the only thing they can be in recessive.

You have successfully bred a variety of genera....from a variety of groups....multi species breeder like myself.....I have not bred many snakes....but have bred a few species of boas, pythons, and colubrids.....LOVE EM ALL!!!!!!!
