11 generations. Holy Moley!

11 generations of TOKAYS! You sir, are either a very dedicated hobbyist or a glutton for punishment. Or a little of both.

Cool, we got the obligatory picture of the tokay with its mouth open. Gotta love'em.

Hey you got any of those funky blue ones?

Nope just localities. And a few other morphs.
Not so big on the morphs personally.Mostly into the Gekko genus as a whole!
Vittatus
siamensis
japiconus
petricolus
grossmanni
ulikvoski
and a few undescribed species.

Ignorance rearing its' head here...how long does it take to get 11 generations? 1 per year, or what? By the way, your avatar freaks me out even though I LOVE me some Cap'n Spaulding-I got them on DVD and I wish Zombie would quit doing remakes and have something just as cool :yourock:

His avatar freaks me out, too. Ive convinced myself he actually looks like that. Cant you picture it? A lunatic running around surrounded by lizards?

Id like to know the answer as well. It will depend on how long tokays take to reach sexually maturity. Some lizards can do it in 6 months. Others take longer so, obviously, it would take longer to get to your 11th generation. I dont know how long tokays take to be able to breed. But Ill betcha scary guy will tell us!

Roughly it takes around 12-14 months before they are breedable.
Although 6-8 months would be the point where they are mature.
I personally dont breed them that young just because i want higher and more clutches out of my females.
Also as a side note.Because my G.vittatus and G.ulikvoski take Repashy diets, the past year i have been putting the mix in with all the Tokays.
And guess what folks..THEY DO EAT IT.I wouldnt say exclusivley, but they do eat there fare share.

Also i think Rob Zombie should stick to original stuff!

 You're not too far off the mark there! Except Jeremy doesn't generally use as much makeup as Capt Spaulding. He still wears the little hat from time to time though:lol:

Congrats on the tokays man! Lookin good!

Good question. Do they mellow out a but over 11 generations? My guess would be "no". LOL!

It seems the retics have. I remember when every retic was hell on wheels. Now I see quite a few, QUITE a few that seem pretty mellow except around feeding time. I still hold my old motto though "Never trust a retic". I got slammed way too many times.

Tokays, niles and retics. The Axis of Evil.

Indeed some of them seem that way. The retics do seem to chill out a bit, though. I don't know if there's been enough, or even any, breeding of niles to know if a couple generations of CB niles would make them less defensive/aggressive/whatever you want to call it. I, too, want to know about your tokay's attitudes. I love me some tokays, and have planned on getting a few. Is the calm, handleable tokay a myth, or what?

I think jeremy will back me on this. Tokays aren't all that bad, it just depends how you approach and pick them up. Now watch me lose my thumb and some blood trying to get pics of it.

Honestly after 11 generations it really does not make to much of a difference.
Like Mike said its really all on how you handle them.
Me personally i dont handle to many of mine.
