I was taking some pics for another post and I snapped a shot of this girl for kicks. My photography skills are bloody awful but this one came out pretty good so I thought Id post it.

Just a female hypo tangerine carrotail. And she is not very tangerine by todays standards but when I got her she was considered pretty good. Now when you look at Albeys mine looks like a normal. But shes a cutie and a pez dispenser when it comes to eggs.

Yeah she looks like that in the pic. In person she does have an orange hue. You can see a little tangerine. No where CLOSE to what they look like today but you can see it in person better than pics.

I gotta be honest. Im not much of a crestie guy. Dont get me wrong, I like them. I have a love and interest in all herps. I like looking at the different morphs. Some of them are spectacular. Just not something I would keep myself at this stage of the game. They are a little on the small side for my taste. The smallest lizards I have are the leos. Thats about as small as I wanna go.

I have limited space so I have to pick and choose. Plus I keep a lot of monitors and they require a huge amount of space. Im trying to focus on varanids. I also have a small group of leos and some blue tongue skinks. But Im TRYING not to get any more animals of a different species, LOL! Who knows if that will last.

I have a new trio of monitors coming on Friday. And I still want red ackies. I am planning on expaning my collection quite a but in the next 6 months. But I have to be careful about what I aquire. If I got more geckos I would probably get some high quality leo morphs. I dig the leos.

But who knows. I like geckos. Maybe some day they'll get a hold of me. Im not ruling anything out.

Id also like to get a few snakes :):):)

Im workin on it, man. I really am. Its a tough road when you have a GF afraid of snakes. She tolerates the lizards. She actually likes the leopard geckos. She named them. The skinks she could care less. They are "turds with legs" direct quote. Hates the insects. Hate, hate, hate.

And shes scared of snakes. She's afraid they are going to bite her. Ive explained that if she keeps her hot little hands out of the cage shes not gonna get bit. But shes afraid that if one gets out it will go on a homicidal rampage, seek her out and bite her. I dunno, Im working on it. Making some progress. Little by little.

Im thinking of dragging her along to the next show. Sort of a baptism by fire. Let her see all the beautiful snakes. Let her see the 8 year old kids handling them. The big, docile snakes. The pretty little guys. I know some people who vend so maybe they will allow her to hold a corn snake or something. Or Ill hold it and she can see its not ripping my throat out.

Or maybe Ill just bring a pair home and say they are lizards that had a terrible accident.

Naaaaaaay that would never work.

LOL, my wife is that way. She thinks they'll climb up in the bed at night and bite her. She HATES snakes, but it's one of them things I won't give up so she deals with it. Rapuda, my old normal female, has gotten loose a couple times. She wouldn't sleep, nor could I, until I found her :nono: Silly women.

Oh, and the Leo looks nice http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff315/QuigsPlace/slapsforhead.gif

next time you're plannin' on bein' on the island V, give me a shout and swing her by.
ain't nobody my kids can't get to hold a snake (except SOME of their grandparents ! ).
people come in scared, and walk out as holders of the serptiles.
cute little balls get 'em all, then they progress 'em up in size to the mamas.
even my 'ol lady, whose no lover of serps, will hold 'em.
here to help bro,

No leggs are soooooo much easier. I only have around 60 lizards and they are kicking my butt.
