So how many people's girls go off feed around now and don't eat till they ovulate? How many people are feeding year round? Alot of my girls are off feed and on the cool side and some are still on heat and still looking for food. Just trying to get a feel for what is going on with some of my girls. I like to really know what's happening with my animals so I can tweak what I need to.

Thanks for any input.

During this time of year most if not all of my females are pounding food. I'll space their meals out a little more as the season progresses. For the most part my females don't start shutting down until Feb-Mar..

Mine eat regardless.... all the way through breeding season (I don't offer food to ones that have ovulated or are gravid) and all year long, with just a few ripples thrown in here and there....

I wonder if things can vary from region to region?

My breeder females are pounding food - they will usually feed well up until shortly before ovulation. The boys start getting spotty with their feeding when they start breeding. My sub adult girls (or adults not breeding) will usually go off feed from Jan. to Mayish.

Me being in Wisconsin ive noticed some of my females most start to slow down around now. None really go off feed totally until late jan-feb, i feed all my snakes one meal a week, during breeding season i feed smaller meals to my breeding females and i let them go off feed on thier own once thier gravid.

I live in S.Fl. I dont if it matters but we had some cold fronts come through pretty early in the year and put one of my females on off-feed. This is my first year with her. I dont know if shes on off-feed because shes on that winter no feed or she might wanna Breed. Lets see what happens in the next few weeks. I'll throw a calico in there. Lets see if I can read signs of Breeding. If she doesnt show any intrest then I'll know why shes not feeding.

Wow I have fed once a week all year and (90%) have all quit eating. They are all first time breeders this year with eceptional body wieght. Most are laying cool. It will be interesting to see what happens.
