Try feeding them. Don't worry about waiting for the first shed. Some breeders say they get better responses before the shed anyway.

That I can't answer. Sometimes these things just don't go "by the book". Good luck with the feeding trials.

I've had them go anywhere from 10 days to 1 month before first shed. You should definately be feeding them. I start feeding trials about 3-5 days after hatch. Waiting for sheds on gtp's is worthless imo.

I also feed before first shed to those that want.. Even had one start to shed while eating the first meal last year. Start with newborn pinkies. I keep several colonies of mice and feed live pinkies. Those that aren't eaten, I just throw back with mother mouse. I've found about 1/3 of the hatch will eat before first shed

I would also start feeding before shedding. I had my entire clutch of 12 eating before their first sheds last year. I go straight to the scenting route now that I have seen how good it gets them feeding. I use chick down on all my F/T pinkies and it usually gets them to hold it right away. I do this for the first few feedings or until I am sure they are used to pinkies as being food, then I quit. Never had any issues with them requiring the scent after a few meals with it, and it gets them adapted to understanding that it is food, and not a threat. I feel pretty confident in this way and have gotten MANY non feeders from other breeders to eat when all else has failed. I keep frozen chicks in my freezer just for this and throw a bunch of the stuff in a bag and drop the warm, slightly damp pinkies in the bag so they are covered in the stuff. It makes the little neonates go crazy for food!

Yeah....I've noticed that snakes can't read, so don't always go by "the book". :lmao:

Many of my carpets also eat before their first sheds.

Travis, first off, congrats. It sure can be a trying experience. Don't give up on the others. Be patient. Keep attempting, but try not to over stress them. 3 stikes... let them rest for 15 mins and come back and try again. Good luck.

Travis that sucks.. I can tell you this though, anoles and house geckos are easy to breed. That way no way are you introducing wild caught possiblity of whatever to your cb gtp's. Good luck on your one that is hanging in there!

I'm sorry you lost so many of the little neos... I has to be discouraging. Is it possible to scent the pinks with the anoles?
