Found this guy out on the porch tonight. anyone know what it is?

First time I found one of those I thought I found a new bug species, but then I was a whole 13 years old. They ARE uncommon but all it is is a color morph, if you will, of a June bug.

Hey...that's a really cool shot, too! That was the first beetle Christian ever found that required an ID, so I helped him find it. They're way neat.
