BW Caramel Jungle and friends...

BW as in "Boa Woman". Sharon Moore who is the only Boa breeder I know of that has been producing Boas longer than I have, is the originator of the BWC Boas or the Boa Woman Caramel Boas. This is a simple recessive form of what is commonly called a T-Positive form of Albino. The Herp community calls the Albinos that lack ALL black influence T-Negative Albinos, while this simple recessive mutations that reduce black influence are called T-Positive. Meaning that some of the black production is allowed but it is interrupted to such an extent to not allow it to reach full or normal black production. I didn’t word that very well but hopefully you get the idea. Even though this definition isn't actually technically correct, this is what the Boa community means when they give their descriptions.

Three years ago Steven Scroggs bred one of the best Jungles on the planet to his female BW Caramel. I wish I could find the picture of that Jungle because he is a killer animal! I was fortunate to obtain this Jungle Het BW Caramel male from Steve three years ago. I produced a litter of Pastel Het BW Caramels in 2004 or 2005. The mother of this litter came from that litter. Here is the Jungle het BW Caramel.

The litter was larger than I expected from this five and one half foot female. The odds were about right and I am thankful for the critters I was fortunate to have born. I was there to see the entire birth and did my best to get good pictures of the event.

At first she was really laboring to get the show on the road. She went through contractions for about 20 minutes or maybe half and hour before that nasty slugs delivery. This extremely strange hard slug came out first. I have never seen one like it and I have seen, trust me. I have seen a lot of slugs in my day. LOL I have never seen one like this.

And if I never see one again like this, that will be just fine with me!

Then all the good stuff began to flow...

There were two slugs total including the freaky one that started everything off. It was fun to watch the babies being born, but frustrating that I was not able to get a goo look at the action. She has her body out front so I could barely peak over most of the time.

Then I had to take them out because I had to get a better look at them! A really nice BWC Jungle sitting with a BWC. A couple Jungles can be seen in this picture.

I am really tickled with the bunch of the Jungles in this litter.

What's not to like about this little group?
