HiImSteveDuh 07-26-2010, 10:10 PM Haha finally a sub forum I can totally own! I don't care how many genes you can jam into one ball python as long as I have my little kenyan sand boas to brag about!
Here's my most anticipated pairing of the year:

Rufescens X Albino
I love this picture!! He's on her completely and doesn't even come to the halfway point of her body, lmao!!!
Looking forward to the results on this pair, what will the babies look like?

Haha I know right, that female is MASSIVE.
The babies will come out striped, or banded (called tigers) het. albino. Breed it back I get albino stripes, which have been produced once so far to date. They are a yellow snake with a bright orange stripe running down the back.

Thanks, im worried its too late in the year though. This guy has been with my girls since february, and have seen no breeding action until last night when I decided to heat things up and throw another male in with them. that did the trick!

They're one of the easiest snakes to breed! Cycle them slightly and they usually pair up in the spring but can and do breed year round. Most people with just one pair often just keep them together year round.
phunkyone808 08-08-2010, 05:55 AM Ok cool I have a pair living together.... And will cycle them this comming year.. Saw a few cool Morphs online like the paradox and paradox albinos and some other cool stuff....I like the anerys
My wife wanted a pair of boas to dothe whole live bith thing so I got her a pair of sand boas....

They're such a great under rated species to work with! In the next few years I think they will pick up A LOT in populatity. There is about a dozen new base mutations people are just starting to discovery and work with, and as combos come out, you're going to see kenyans that blow you away!
S.Gilbert 01-30-2011, 08:55 PM Just wondered if there was any update on this pair. Did they produce for you? I'd love to see new pictures.

... except you need to be aware of the potential for the black widow syndrome to rear it's ugly head.
had a pair that i kept together until the day i found the male's head in the females mouth. double het siblings too ! talk about your brotherly love !
i personally think they breed better when introduced for that purpose only.
but there are a hundred ways to skin your knees !
gorgeous pair by the way.
hope she sticks for 'ya

Agreed it's better to keep pairs seperated.
As for an update on the pair: The albino female is deffinetly gravid. Though I'm starting to get concerned because she really should have given birth by now, and her belly is getting really too firm, so I'm concerned she may have slugged out and become egg bound. Time will tell.
