There's still time for him to "almost" retire and return again. norsmis 08-17-2010, 07:24 PM Never doubted it.... he just loves the dramatic entrance.... or his dealer was busy and he was trying to track him down..... freaking pansy.... Maybe he's smarter than we think. Sputnik 08-17-2010, 10:56 PM Didn't he use this to his advantage to squeeze a few more millions toward his contract? Maybe he's smarter than we think. At his age they either retire or they get retired on the field! kare 08-17-2010, 11:02 PM Didn't he use this to his advantage to squeeze a few more millions toward his contract? Maybe he's smarter than we think. nope. his contract was for 2 years. no extra $$ if he comes back. Saltydog88 08-17-2010, 11:04 PM I heard on one of the many news stories that his original contract was 13 million guaranteed, and after his threat of retirement it was upped to 16 million guaranteed plus performance incentives. According to the news here in Minneapolis, there is no upped salary- it is the $13 mil originally contracted for and there have always been performance incentives. They are having a news conference tomorrow at 1pm CST with Farve and then we should all know for sure. Contract wages and retirement rumors. Saltydog88 08-17-2010, 11:11 PM He just left MS on a private jet to Minn. with some team staff (Fox News). I'd try my damnest to get out of that shit too at his age...:lmao: He's 40 and will turn 41 during the season. Yep, he's a royal pain and and diva, but yeah, he got out of the 2-a-day practices. I'm a Vikes fan and I'M tired of watching this diva do his strut. I wish he WOULD retire so we can get serious on a replacement for him. I don't know if T-Jack is up to the task, but we need somebody new and fresh at QB. Wild Bill 08-18-2010, 12:01 PM I will be surprised if he makes it the whole year. Every team knows a couple good shots could do him in........ Sputnik 08-18-2010, 04:30 PM He's 40 and will turn 41 during the season. To me they are just gambling their future on an old horse that keeps a dozen pain killer prescriptions beside his bed and delaying the obvious the more they pander to this 40 yr old soap opera woman.... you have to think more about the future, not gamble it all on a single year.... they will regret it. I will be surprised if he makes it the whole year. Every team knows a couple good shots could do him in........ I can't see him making the year either :dunno: Saltydog88 08-18-2010, 07:16 PM I'm sure the Saints will give him a warm welcome on opening day. skm0308 08-18-2010, 09:38 PM I'm sure the Saints will give him a warm welcome on opening day. I was going to say the same thing, hopefully they treat him like they did last season. Great way to start the season with a couple nice pops to the chin. Sara 08-18-2010, 10:29 PM He's 40 and will turn 41 during the season. But I bitched when Farbe was first talked about coming here, and am still bitching about the drama. We need a good solid healthy dependable QB, and I hate the drama queen. Love it when we win though, lol! SNSnakes 08-19-2010, 01:15 PM The current owner (Ziggy Wilf) wants a Superbowl title in THE WORSE WAY, so he's doing everything he can to get one NOW...screw the future. Because IF the Vikings win the Superbowl, not only will it be their first time, but then Ziggy has some leverage to twist the MN legislature to fund a new stadium on the taxpayer dime! nickboles 08-19-2010, 01:49 PM Guys 40 and still getting the job done...you have to give him credit. Yea, he likes the drama and flamboyance of being in the limelight this time of year (or all year long). People have been saying for the past four years that he will not make it through the season, a few good hits and he'll retire, he doesn't have it anymore. What does he do each year? Goes out and bangs with players almost half his age on a weekly basis and still puts up HOF numbers. kare 08-19-2010, 06:51 PM Guys 40 and still getting the job done...you have to give him credit. Saltydog88 08-19-2010, 06:58 PM I actually liked him as a Packer and the year they canned him and he continued to play. I think he was a Jet? After that he turned into a drama queen which really goes against his previous rep as a regular joe who got the job done on a regular basis. norsmis 08-19-2010, 06:59 PM I actually liked him as a Packer and the year they canned him and he continued to play. Very true, but the more times you play with fire the greater your chances of being burned... there's a reason why some players who take serious blows in the positions they play walk away from the game while they still have the ability to perform... maybe it's because they want to remember what they did on the field when theyre 60?
