Come the first of the month if there's any money left after payin' bills  I've wanted some for a looooong time and have read every care sheet online that I could find so I'm prepared to care for it. Was just wondering if anyone here keeps them and could give me some info that would help that the care sheets don't cover. They want 70 bucks for this little rascal and I know they're cheaper online but I rarely find them online. Thanks, up front, for any advice.

One of the biggest problems with hingebacks can be getting them to eat. 99.9% are wild and not in the best of health. Make sure that it's eating well and ask how long they've had it. If they've had it for a decent amount of time and it's doing well then it's worth spending more on.

I saw it at the pet store yesterday. Looks good, but we all know that means nothing. I'm betting it's WC. It wasn't in the store 3 weeks ago. I didn't get a chance to pick it up and get a GOOD look or ask any questions. The place was pretty busy at the time. I'll ask all the pertinent questions and see if they'll feed it for me when I go down next time. Thanks you two.

Yeah, 3 weeks isn't very long at all.. may not even have any weight loss in that short of a time. You can always ask if they'll try feeding it for you so you can see, but from a store perspective I will say that doesn't always work. I've had animals where people do the "feed it for me so I know" and it's something that just ate half hour before to the point that it's stuffed and isn't going to happen... Just something to keep in mind. With the hingebacks they'll almost always take a nightcrawler or angelworm treat, see if they'll at least do that.

Nummy nurms :D

I'm bettin' it's WC too so it'll probably have to be treated for parasites but I'll ask anyways.

They are one that when treated, treat real low dose, don't let a vet try to knock everything at once, as that seems to be more debilitating to them.

I do intend to try once I get this one sexed and find it a friend. I've always liked the hinge backed torts. They're small enough an ol' man can manage em :wamma: :wamma:

You know anybody that's got any captive born?
