If someone was wanting to get into breeding beardies and was to buy a pair of adult normals....

what's the average price on a pair of clean looking normals if someone just wanted to get a feel for 'em and not dump alot of money into morphs.

Just curiouse as I've been toying with the idea...

Thanks in advance for any input given!

For nice pair of normals i wouldnt pay anymore then 150$ personally.
Again i would make sure that they came from a reliable source and they were not burned out breeders.
I can almost garuntee you will get eggs off of a pair (and alot of them).
You dont even have to cool them down unless you want them to stop.
They go into this weird self burmation.
Tell you what man,you want a pair drive over and grab a pair.

Like Tokay said, nothing more than $150 for a PAIR. The market is crazy right now in beardies, so you should have no issue finding them.

Now, onto the market issue. I would suggest holding off breeding the beardies for right now unless you have an absolute 110% way of getting rid of babies. Things are so super saturated, and with the economy the way it is, getting rid of morphs is tough enough. Granted, if you can hit a show and drop them for $25 or $30, you can usually do well. Check with the local pet stores and see if they are in the market, but don't expect much more than $12-15 each for them that way. The reason I bring it up is you can quickly lose money on them if you have to continually sell them so cheap, and that is just a bad business decision. Nothing wrong with at least being able to break even when you sell them for cost of food, heating, lighting, etc though, even if you aren't trying to make a profit and are breeding for experience.

Now, when you get the pair, take lots of pics!! And hold them off until spring in case anyone decides to go down for the winter. Then take lots of pics of eggs and babies!

I would stay away from adult females unless you really know the seller personally.

The pair I'm looking at are actually only a couple years old and have been kept together since baby's... to my knowledge they've never been purposely bred as they've been only pets... However they were sexed...They belong to a friends, friend that needs to get rid of them because his girlfriend is moving in and WILL NOT live with them...
don't see how... beardies Rock!

Either way I he's giving me a setup and all but I just wanted to be fair and give him a fair amount of money for them yet atleast know their worth... As for breeding if we did try to breed it would literally only be a pair or two to have something extra to add to the table when we start doing shows...

I'm thinking Balls and a small selection of Leo's and beardies with some nice acrylic displays.

Thanks for all the input...
