View Full Version : 25 Pic Limit

Hi guys, I was wondering if there was a reason behind the pic, emot, and whatever else counts in this section, limit. I have had to go and delete a couple pics out or use a few less emots here and there. The emots I get, maybe I don't need more than 25 emots just because I hatched a few blackheads :lmao: but the pics is a little annoying.

I say annoying because while I want to share on this forum I also participate on a few others and I end up using the CHS forum as my starting point quite often since I am the moderator and I can delete my screw ups  With that said I do not have a pic limit set on the CHS forum so I can load up a mega post and then just copy and paste it elsewhere as the easy way to do things. When i get here or (ironically) KS.com I run into a img limit that makes me edit my post. This often results in me just deleting a few emots but sometimes a picture or two has to go. It is never so bad that I want to cut the post in half and load it up in two different post but instead I just don't post those pics.

So I guess my question is, how many other people run into this? Are others similarly not posting their full post? I mean I am not posting anything amazing that can't also be expressed in 25 pics or less (well not yet  ) And is there any reason behind it or was it just a preset on the forum set up that never got question and there for never changed?

I see the one obvious thing being that a 50 pic post will take forever to load but hopefully the title of the post hooked you enough to want to wait, if not you can hit the old back button and escape. Are we really in that much of a rush?? Or is there some behind the scenes website slowdown sort a thing that happens?? :dunno:

I do have a mega post on my trip to Peru coming up that will certainly be way over 25 pics but that I can slice and dice to share all the awesomeness of Peru. That might be better served as a series anyway... and because I am a horrible tease

I always use photobucket so it's not a problem (that I know of)

I know a lot of people make several posts in each thread when they're posting a lot of pics.

Yes I use photobucket as well but you can only post 25 total pics/emots in one post currently.

I could be wrong, and somebody can correct me (please) if so, but I am assuming that it is that way from when pics were really dragging everything down, was just bogged. I don't know if that is something that they could possibly look at changing now? Guess the bosses would have to answer that one for ya.

Well if there has already been loading issues then this was a solution for that at some point and since it was a problem already I am guessing that no one wants to revisit it. Maybe just bump up to 30 pics just to be different from KS.com ;)

I might just post my Peru stuff elsewhere and link to it in a post here to make my life easier.

They've made changes since then, so maybe when they take a look at it it can be changed? I don't know though...

i didnt understood all of it hundert percent so if im wrong- dont take it for real.

when u can only put 25 pics in one post, then make the 25 pic post and then start another post and do it agian- or is that not allowed- or is here a 25 pics per thread limit or something like that?

ive seen it multiple times on other forums when they post pics from visits at big breeder shps or pics from expos etc.

No you understand what I am saying and in reality it is not a common issue but when I do have a larger post that I start elsewhere and I try to share it here I have had to edit the post down. Is it the end of the world?? No. I just delete some of my post so it still makes sense and move on with life. I could also cut and paste the last half of the post in a response if I wanted to but so far it has not been that I have been over the 25 "IMG" per post limit by more than 3-5 images so I have been deleting a couple smileys or pictures until I am at 25. With the quick response this forum gets from the boys in charge on just about any post I am sure they are aware of this post and the lack of response from them is a silent "deal with dude, that is the way it is because we had issues before" which is fine.

The img limit bugged me, I threw it out there to see if it could be changed and it looks like the guys running the show feel it is best as is. It is not going to keep me from posting, just won't be posting all of the bigger post or splitting them if I think what I have to offer is worth the effort when I do post. No big deal.
